  • Patent number: 4720958
Abstract: A system for aligning and packing substantially flat objects moving on a conveyor line in irregularly spaced and, nonaligned rows includes a mechanism for separating the rows and aligning the objects and also for feeding the aligned objects onto another conveyor. A packing mechanism transfers the aligned objects from a loading area to a container. An additional device places a strip of protective material on top of the layer of objects. A moving means vertically moves the container a distance substantially equal to the thickness of the object being packed in preparation for the reception of an additional layer of objects. Another transfer device moves the filled container from the loading area and replaces it with an empty container. Another transfer moves the filled container to provide room for the next container and an additional device transfers a supply of empty containers in preparation for another container being placed in the loading area.

  • Patent number: 4563612
Abstract: A cathode-ray tube comprising a glass viewing window having, on its external viewing surface, an antistatic, glare-reducing, image-transmitting coating. The coating has a rough surface and is composed essentially of a silicate material and a metallic compound in proportions to impart the desired antistatic characteristic without substantially degrading the image-transmitting capability of the coating. When the tube is operated, the coating is grounded either directly or through the metal implosion-prevention system on the tube.

  • Patent number: 4403547
Abstract: A shallow depression in a printing plate is filled with a viscous printing medium. Then, a transfer surface having the desired geometric pattern contacts the printing medium and thereby coats the surface with the medium. The coated transfer surface is then contacted with a receiving surface whereby medium in the desired pattern is transferred to the receiving surface. This method can be practiced with the same plate and at the same time as another, different transfer printing method.
