  • Patent number: 8134930
Abstract: A method of providing digital data services between a communications service provider and a customer site over a communications loop may include predicting a level of performance of the communications loop without coupling a modem to the communications loop at the customer site to provide a predicted level of performance of the communications loop. The communications loop may be qualified for an initial qualified level of digital data service based on the predicted level of performance of the communications loop. After qualifying the communications loop, digital data service may be provided over the communications loop at the initial qualified level using a modem coupled to the communications loop at the customer site, and a measured level of performance of the communications loop may be obtained based on data communicated between the communications service provider and the modem over the communications loop. The measured level of performance may then be compared with the predicted level of performance.

  • Publication number: 20020078131
Abstract: A method and system for presenting information by geographical location in a geographical region includes a map data input and an operational data input. The map data input provides map data of a geographical region including geographical locations within the geographical region. The operational data input provides operational data associated with the geographical locations within the geographical region. A processor processes the map data and the operational data to generate a map display of the geographical region for presenting operational data by geographic location. The processor classifies the operational data into classifications and then associates the classifications and the operational data with the map data to generate the map display.

  • Patent number: 6192218
Abstract: A method of identifying and transmitting predetermined calling party information as part of a messaging signal is provided for use in a communications network having a messaging processor serving at least one messaging device. At least one database is provided in communication with the messaging processor. The database includes a list of calling party telephone numbers and corresponding calling party names. A message request signal is received at the messaging processor and includes a data field including a message generated by a calling party. The message is parsed to extract possible calling party telephone numbers which are thereafter compared to a stored list of calling party telephone numbers to identify the name of the calling party. A messaging signal is then generated for receipt by the messaging device. The messaging signal includes a data field for identifying the calling party name.
