  • Patent number: 4559160
Abstract: A dichlorobenzidine dihydrochloride (DCB) slurry is produced by adding DCB to a dilute mineral acid carrier composed of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid, by maintaining the DCB concentration within the range such that the diamine amount constitutes from about 35% to about 50% by weight, and by blending the slurry with a high shear device in order to break up any clumps of DCB and to reduce the size of the individual particles of DCB. The resulting slurry is very fluid, yet has an extremely low solids settling rate.

  • Patent number: 4418951
Abstract: This invention relates to a rotary type latch for sliding screen doors wherein the rotary member is molded from a plastic material such as a polycarbonate and which is rotatable in either direction for universal application to either right hand or left hand door operations. The rotary latch engages a slot in a door pull molded from a similar plastic material and contacts the screen door frame through the slot to cam the door against a retaining channel mounted on a door frame. The rotary latch includes a plurality of flat cam faces affording multiple locking positions and which necessitate positive lock rotation to enable the latch to be disengaged. This latch mechanism is of particular usefulness for application to sliding patio screen doors where the screen door closes into a pocket within the side jamb of the patio door frame.

  • Patent number: 4019948
Abstract: An applicator is disclosed for applying pieces of tape having a fibrous surface on one side and a heat-activatable adhesive on the other side onto a receptor. The tape may be hook and loop-fastening tape and the applicator utilizes an applicating pad having wire bristles which engage the fibrous tape surface. The wire bristles support the tape such that the same may be moved into contact with a heater and then moved to apply the tape to a surface. The pad serves to uniformly affix the tape to the surface and the bristles will penetrate the fibers and force the backing and adhesive onto the surface to which the tape is to be applied. The tape may be applied to the brush and then cut to lengths or predetermined lengths of tape may be placed onto the brush.
