  • Publication number: 20200389679
Abstract: Systems and methods are configured to provide alternate content during video streaming. Content made up of a plurality of blocks is streamed over a first video stream to a user computing device via a first URI. While streaming, a determination is made that alternate content is available. In response, a signaling mechanism is provided indicating such and a request for the alternate content is received. As a result, a particular block that is currently being provided over the first video stream is suspended and the alternate content is streamed to the user computing entity over a second video stream. Depending on the embodiment, the second video stream may be accessed by re-activating the first URI or by activating a second URI. Upon completion of the alternate content, the particular block that was suspended can be resumed to facilitate continued streaming of the content over the first or second video stream.

  • Patent number: 10857378
Abstract: A hand-held laser treatment device automatically sweeps a line of laser energy across a treatment area of a patient without moving the device. Laser energy sources reside in a scan head housing, which is rotatably connected to a body housing at a housing mount. A motorized scanning mechanism in the body housing drives a pushrod connected that is to the scan head to cause the scan head to reciprocate about the housing mount axis, moving an emitted line of laser energy up and down. The scanning mechanism comprises a rotational motor, a pushrod drive cam, a guide cam and an amplitude adjustor, all coaxially aligned along a motor axis. Interposed between the pushrod drive cam and the guide cam are the pushrod and a guide bearing aligned along an axis parallel to the motor axis. The degree of sweep is adjustable to change the size of the area treated.

  • Patent number: 10863322
Abstract: A system that implements wireless communication with replay protection for lower power building control applications. In one example, a battery-powered device includes a counter value with each message transmitted to an always-on device. If the always-on device receive an invalid counter value, instead of sending back an acknowledgement, it sends back a message containing an updated counter value. The battery-powered device may keep its receiver on after sending a message for at least a period of time, the battery-powered device receives the message and updates its counter with the received updated counter value. Since it did not receive an acknowledgement, it retries its original message, this time with the updated counter value. The retry message is likely to be successfully transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20200370011
Abstract: Chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) expressing T cells are a promising form of immunotherapy for solid tumors. CAR-T cells from geriatric donors (gCART) are shown herein to be functionally impaired relative to CAR-T from younger donors (yCAR-T). Higher transduction efficiencies and improved cell expansion were observed in yCAR-T cells compared to gCAR-T. yCAR-T demonstrated significantly increased levels of proliferation and signaling activation of pERK, pAKT, pSTAT3 and pSTAT5. Furthermore, yCAR-T contained higher proportions of CD4 and CD8 effector memory cells (EM) which are known to have enhanced cytolytic capabilities. In accordance with higher numbers of CD4 and CD8 EM, yCAR-T demonstrated higher levels of CEA specific cytotoxicity compared to gCAR-T, with maximum cytotoxicity observed in IL15 treated yCAR-T cells.
