  • Publication number: 20230053278
Abstract: Customised polypills may be produced in the pharmacy from two or more drug packages using an assembly machine. Each drug package may comprise an array of cells containing individual doses of a single drug. The individual doses may be combined within the cells of the packages to produce an end user package with an array of cells containing the combined drugs in the form of individual polypills, which may be formed as capsules or pastilles. Label indicia of the drug packages may be combined together to form a composite label of the end user package. Serialization data may be read from the packages during assembly and sent to a remote server for authentication and supply chain management. In another aspect, patients who have a history of poor compliance with a prescribed oral antipsychotic while periodically seeking symptomatic relief from another prescribed psychoactive, are provided with both medicaments in the form of polypills to be taken in place of the solo antipsychotic when the patient is in crisis.

  • Patent number: 10415234
Abstract: A flexible, elongate barrier comprising relatively rigid barrier portions connected by elastomeric joints is introduced slidingly into the cavity of a cavity wall and sealed to the outer leaf of the wall by introducing a portion of the barrier into a slot cut in the inner surface of the wall and/or by providing a water resistant composition which may be injected into the slot. The barrier may form an X or V shaped configuration defining a channel from which water is discharged via drains from the cavity. The barrier portions may be arranged in a flat configuration when the barrier is stored on a reel and moved through a deployed configuration to an installation configuration against the resilient bias of the joint so that they spring out to the deployed configuration to conform to the width of the cavity after installation.

  • Patent number: 10383291
Abstract: An apparatus for planting a seedling (3) in an arid area comprises a vertical, downwardly tapering shroud (20) and a seedling plug (1) comprising a body of growing medium covered by a moisture resistant cap (14) which preferably is sealingly received in a lower region (22) of the shroud. The lower region of the shroud surrounding the upper portion of the seedling is buried beneath ground level (51) with at least one water reservoir (40, 200) and supplied with water via capillary wicks (43), the reservoir being buried beneath ground level and covered by a moisture resistant cover (60) which sealingly surrounds the shroud. The shroud extends above ground level to protect and shade the seedling and together with the cap (14) and cover (60) serves to retain moisture in the planting region for the first year of growth.

  • Patent number: 10358179
Abstract: A ship or other large and heavy load may be supported on a fluid cushion comprising a two dimensional array of airbags constrained within elastic mesh compartments (81) and inflated by individual valve assemblies (188, 189, 231 . . . ) which are connected by a grid of airlines and distributed over a flexible web (60) separating respective horizontal layers of the assembly. The ship rests on an upper layer while the compartments of a lower layer are inflated and deflated in sequence to generate a travelling contraction which moves through the fluid cushion to translate its base surface over the ground in any desired direction of travel, with the load gradually moving by fluid pressure in the same direction. The deflated cushion assembly can be stored and deployed on a spool (see FIG. 1-3) rotated by a hydraulic motor.

  • Patent number: 10016555
Abstract: A dialysis bloodline set includes an arterial chamber with upper, lower and central portions, in which the maximum section area of the upper and central portions is less than that of the lower portion. The venous chamber may be completely filled with blood in use. The reduced volume of air within the bloodline provides, ceteris paribus, more rapid sensing of fault conditions during dialysis, while the smaller upper portion of the arterial chamber provides a useful medication point and makes manufacture easier.

  • Publication number: 20090090070
Abstract: A system for lining arched structures, particularly railway arches (1), provides a plurality of elongate, flexible frame elements (70), each protected by a flexible shield (149) and engaged frictionally against the curved soffit (5) by hoop stress applied at either end, preferably by a pair of installation tools (300) mounted on stanchions (40). Each tool includes a pivoting ratchet which allows the flexible frame element (70) to be formed into an arched shape on the ground and then raised into a vertical plane prior to installation. Each frame element (70) may comprise a unitary “top-hat” profile with deformable hinges, each hinge having an associated deformation structure which distributes bending forces evenly during installation. The frame elements (70) are fixed to the stanchions (40) to support them at either end in their installed position, providing a self-supporting, arched framework which relies upon the masonry soffit (5) for its shape and stability.
