  • Publication number: 20070047211
Abstract: A device to thermally couple a thermal management apparatus to at least one heat generating component of a circuit substrate includes at least a first portion that is adapted to couple to the thermal management apparatus, and at least a second portion that is adapted to couple to the thermal management apparatus. The first portion and the second portion may be symmetrically arranged relative to each other. The first portion and the second portion are adapted to thermally couple the thermal management apparatus to the heat generating component with a first spring bias. The first portion and the second portion are further adapted to maintain the thermal management apparatus thermally coupled to the heat generating component with a second spring bias.

  • Patent number: 7145408
Abstract: A circuit for distributing a clock signal in an integrated circuit includes a capacitive clock distribution circuit. At least one additional inductor is formed in a metal layer of the integrated circuit and is coupled to the clock distribution circuit. The inductor, which may distributed throughout the integrated circuit, has an inductance value selected to resonate with impedance of the capacitive clock distribution circuit. By operating the clock distribution circuit at resonance, power dissipation is reduced while skew and jitter performance can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20060200720
Abstract: A peripheral device to generate read and write cycles on a PCI bus comprises a PCI bus interface. A control unit has a data pattern generator to source a data pattern to a target via the interface during a write operation and to verify an incoming data pattern from the interface during a read operation.

  • Publication number: 20060139112
Abstract: A circuit for distributing a clock signal in an integrated circuit includes a capacitive clock distribution circuit (102) having at least conductor (115) therein. At least one inductor is formed in a metal layer of the integrated circuit and is coupled to the clock distribution circuit. The inductor, generally in the form of a number of spiral inductors (120) distributed throughout the integrated circuit, provides an inductance value selected to resonate with the capacitive clock distribution circuit at resonance, power dissipation is reduced while skew and jitter performance can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20060033671
Abstract: A phased array antenna structure capable of operation at millimeter-wave frequencies and having multiple ring slot radiator elements (10). The RF feed structure for each radiator element includes a feed via (28) extending part-way through a multi-layer structure (FIG. 3) on which the radiator elements (10) are formed and a strip line feed probe (30) extending from the via (28) toward the radiator element. A key feature facilitating high-frequency operation is the inclusion of multiple mode suppressors (32) surrounding the via (28) and providing a smooth transition from a coaxial mode of RF transmission to a strip line mode of RF transmission. The feed probe (30) is tailored to provide either a narrow-band or a wideband frequency characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20050208597
Abstract: Methods and kits are provided for a multiplexed reverse phase protein (RPP) microarray platform, which is utilized for simultaneous monitoring of cellular components following exposure to an agent or agents of interest. The microarray comprises cell lysates or fractions thereof. The array is probed with a specific binding agent or agents. Binding agents of interest include agents specific for inducible proteins, constitutive proteins, apoptosis-specific modifications, etc., and particularly for post-translationally modified proteins, e.g. phosphoproteins, glycosylated proteins, and the like. The methods are of interest for determining patterns of modifications, and the like that define disease states or classify subsets of disease (including staging and subsets of cancers, autoimmune diseases, and the like); that follow response to therapy; that determine response patterns after exposure to a specific agent, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20050020303
Abstract: A mobile communication device including an integrated stylus input unit to input data into the device, and an interface to wirelessly transmit data. In one embodiment, the integrated stylus is a handwriting stylus input device to input data by moving the stylus over a substantially flat surface. In one embodiment, the stylus includes a motion sensor embedded in an antenna extending from the device.

  • Publication number: 20020174436
Abstract: A system for providing on demand responses to consumer impulses produced by a demand stimulus includes a computer processing system and content databases accessible by the computer-processing system having stored stimulus responses corresponding to a plurality of consumer demand stimuli in at least two categories of demand stimuli. A real-time inquiry response system associated with the computer processing system receives inquiries provided by a consumer and identifies the content category with which the consumer inquiry is associated. The computer processing system correlates consumer inquiries received by the real-time inquiry response system with stimulus responses stored in the content database based on the content category identified by the inquiry response system, so that the real-time consumer response system can return to the consumer, in real time, a stored stimulus response which correlates to the consumer inquiry.
