  • Patent number: 10588695
Abstract: An insertable light-dispensing catheter device, comprising a shaft including a proximal and distal end, a light guide extending through the shaft, and a mirror displaceably extendable from the catheter into a position where the mirror receives and reflects light emitted from the light guide. The mirror can be in the form of a coating on an inflatable balloon; and the balloon, when inflated, can press a patch against a defect (e.g., a ventricular septical defect), while the light cures an adhesive that binds the patch to the structure with the defect, thereby remedying the defect.

  • Publication number: 20200081102
Abstract: The light detection and ranging (LADAR) for military and harsh environment use disclosed herein presents a solution to the shortcomings inherent in modern systems. The system manipulates emitted beams to reduce or reallocate the energy required for detection, and may selectively deactivate beams to minimize that chances of detection by wasted or unrequired beam emissions. The system may also alter the divergence and amplitude of emitted beams so as to more accurately detect higher priority objects within the environment. The system may also manipulate the frequency and waveform of emitted beams to reduce the chances of a bystander detecting the emissions.

  • Publication number: 20200049727
Abstract: Automated pipetting systems and methods are disclosed for aspirating and dispensing fluids, particularly biological samples. In one aspect, a liquid dispenser includes a manifold and one or more pipette channels. The manifold includes a vacuum channel, a pressure channel, and a plurality of lanes. Each lane includes an electrical connector, a port to the pressure channel, and a port to the vacuum channel. The pipette channels can be modular. Each pipette channel includes a single dispense head and can be selectively and independently coupled to any one lane of the plurality of lanes. In some aspects, a valve in the pipette channel is in simultaneous fluid communication with a pressure port and a vacuum port of the manifold. The valve selectively diverts gas under pressure and gas under vacuum to the dispense head in response to control signals received through the electrical connector of the manifold.

  • Publication number: 20200037264
Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein protect components of a user equipment (UE), such as a low noise amplifier (LNA), from internal interference. For example, the LNA may be disconnected from a receive chain during periods of high internal interference, and may be reconnected to the receive chain during periods of low internal interference. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein improve performance by adjusting operations of the UE to account for and/or offset increased internal interference due to a receive chain that does not include a surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter to remove unwanted radio frequency signals. For example, one or more operations of a baseband processor may be modified to account for the increased internal interference. Additionally, or alternatively, reporting of channel state information may be modified to account for increased internal interference of the UE. Additional details are described herein.

  • Publication number: 20190366491
Abstract: A system includes a mounting plate having a plurality of reference members, an inspection system having a profiler device, and an additive manufacturing machine operatively coupled with the inspection system. A computer device scans the mounting plate with the profiler device to obtain position and orientation of the reference members and position and top surface profile data of any parts located on the mounting plate. A transmitting step transmits reference member position and orientation and part position and top surface profile data to the additive manufacturing machine. A detecting step detects mounting plate orientation and position inside the additive manufacturing machine. A combining step combines mounting plate orientation/position inside of the additive manufacturing machine and part position and top surface profile data to calculate a build path program for the additive manufacturing machine. A performing step performs a build process using the build path program to repair the parts.
