  • Publication number: 20230203891
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a control method and system. The system includes: a deactivation control; a control centre controller for storing an association between the deactivation control and a selected set of mine sites; a plurality of autonomous drill rigs, each drill rig having a drill shutdown module to disable a function of the respective drill rig upon receipt of a deactivation command; and a mine site controller associated with each mine site, each mine site controller being coupled to all autonomous drill rigs located at the respective mine site with which the mine site controller is associated. Activating the deactivation control transmits a deactivation command from the deactivation control to the control centre controller. The control centre controller forwards the deactivation command to a mine site controller associated with each mine site in the set of mine sites for distribution to all autonomous drill rigs at that mine site.

  • Patent number: 10793260
Abstract: Aircraft and methods and systems for controlling performance of an aircraft. The methods and systems allow the aircraft to meet a performance requirement using a set of aircraft flight data and actuators connected to control surfaces. Performance data for primary and secondary actuators are obtained to select between a primary control law for controlling the primary control surface, a secondary control law for controlling the secondary control surface, and a blended control law that controls the primary and secondary control surfaces together. If the primary control surface cannot meet the aircraft performance requirement using the primary control law, the blended control law is implemented if the primary and secondary control surfaces can be used together to meet the performance requirement; otherwise the secondary control surface is used, using the secondary control law, to meet the aircraft performance requirement.

  • Patent number: 10117509
Abstract: A table assembly may include a tabletop member having a lateral sidewall and a longitudinal sidewall. A cover may be pivotally connected to the tabletop member about a cover pivot. The cover may be configured to move from a closed position to a display position and may include a cover cavity having an interior wall. An adjustable length arm may include a first arm portion and a second arm portion. The first arm portion may be pivotally connected to the lateral sidewall of the tabletop member. The second arm portion may be pivotally connected to the interior wall of the cover. The cover may be configured to receive the tabletop member in the cover cavity when the cover is in the closed position. The cover pivot may be located nearer the longitudinal sidewall of the tabletop member than the first arm end portion.

  • Publication number: 20180223221
Abstract: A hollow vessel operated under vacuum receives whole orange peel delivered by a conveyor. The peel is heated indirectly by steam. Oil and water present in the peel evaporates and is drawn off to be condensed, captured and separated. Separation is by decantation. Operation under vacuum lowers the boiling point of the oil. Steam condensate is collected for reuse. The exiting peel discharges from the vessel and is conveyed away for further processing.

  • Patent number: 9012854
Abstract: When employing specular reflective material in a scintillator crystal array, light trapping in the crystal due to repetitive internal reflection is mitigated by roughening at least one side (16) of each of a plurality of pre-formed polished scintillator crystals. A specular reflector material (30) is applied (deposited, wrapped around, etc.) to the roughened crystals, which are arranged in an array. Each crystal array is coupled to a silicon photodetector (32) to form a detector array, which can be mounted in a detector for a functional scanner or the like.

  • Patent number: 8950205
Abstract: An apparatus and method to cool compressors, condensing coils, and similar devices. The compressor or condensing coil is cooled by the delivery of water, which may be ambient temperature or chilled. In one embodiment, the water is delivered to a mesh filter or screen via one or more mist spray nozzles. Water conduits may be integrated with the filter frame. The method to control the delivery of the water is designed to conserve water. The control circuit comprises a microcontroller device which contains programming that receives inputs, including but not limited to, outside ambient air temperature, condenser liquid line temperature, relative humidity and electric current, and uses said inputs to provide a stepwise level of control (“solenoid open time”) of water delivery commensurate with outside air temperature and relative humidity.

  • Patent number: 7633057
Abstract: A scintillator (18) includes radioactive elements which emit radiation of a characteristic energy, such as lutetium176, which emits 202 keV and 307 keV ?-rays. The scintillators have light output levels that vary and photomultiplier tubes that respond to the light scintillations tend to drift. When a scanner (10) is not generating diagnostic images, the photomultiplier tubes detect scintillations from the lutetium 176 radiation. A self-calibration processor (40) adjusts the gain for each photomultiplier tube such that its output peak corresponds to 202 keV or 307 keV and adjusts a scaling factor for PMT outputs corresponding to each scintillator such that the output peaks have a common amplitude.
