Patent number: 9582399Abstract: In a service emulation method, a transaction library storing a plurality of messages communicated between a system under test and a target system upon which the system under test depends is accessed responsive to receiving a request from the system under test. One of the messages stored in the transaction library is identified as corresponding to the received request based on different weightings assigned to respective sections of the messages, and a response to the received request is generated using the one of the messages that was identified. Related systems and computer program products are also discussed.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: CA, Inc.Inventors: Steven Cornelis Versteeg, John Sinclair Bird, Nathan Allin Hastings, Miao Du, Jean-David Dahan

Patent number: 9576123Abstract: Methods for enabling pattern-based user authentication are described. During a registration phase for establishing user credentials, an end user of a computing device may select a matrix size for a matrix and select a shape of a shape size. The matrix of the matrix size may then be displayed and the shape of the shape size may be displayed such that the shape appears to overlay the matrix. The end user may move the shape over the matrix and as the shape is moved, the symbols of the matrix may be updated such that symbols arranged inside the boundary of the shape are not repeated, while one or more symbols arranged outside of the boundary of the shape are repeated. The order of symbols selected by the end user inside the boundary of the shape may be used to determine a pattern-based password.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2015Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: CA, INC.Inventors: Gowtham Sen Potnuru, Surya Kiran Satyavarapu, Souptik Sen, Steven Cornelis Versteeg

Publication number: 20160277510Abstract: In a method of service emulation, a transaction subset including ones of a plurality of message transactions previously communicated between a system under test and a target system for emulation is defined. The message transactions include requests and responses thereto that are stored in a computer-readable memory. Variable sections of the requests and variable sections of the responses of the transaction subset are identified, for example, based on respective message structures thereof. Substitution rules, which indicate a correspondence between respective ones of the variable sections of the requests and respective ones of the variable sections of the responses, are determined for the transaction subset based on commonalities therebetween. Responsive to receiving an incoming request from the system under test, a response to the incoming request is generated according to the substitution rules. Related computer systems and computer program products are also discussed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2015Publication date: September 22, 2016Inventors: Miao Du, Steven Cornelis Versteeg

Publication number: 20160267170Abstract: In a computer-implemented method for endpoint management, a plurality of messages communicated between a target endpoint and a client are recorded, in a computer-readable memory. Ones of the messages are clustered into respective groups, where the respective groups correspond to respective operation types of the ones of the messages included therein. For the respective operation types, respective message structures used by the target endpoint are determined based on commonalities among the ones of the messages of the respective groups corresponding to the operation types. For one of the respective operation types, a request to the target endpoint is generated in accordance with a corresponding one of the respective message structures used by the target endpoint. Related computer systems and computer program products are also discussed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2015Publication date: September 15, 2016Inventors: Nathan Allin Hastings, Steven Cornelis Versteeg, John Sinclair Bird, Xien Yao

Publication number: 20150363215Abstract: In a method of service emulation, a plurality of messages communicated between a system under test and a target system for emulation are recorded in a computer-readable memory. Ones of the messages are clustered to define a plurality of message clusters, and respective cluster prototypes are generated for the message clusters. The respective cluster prototypes include a commonality among the ones of the messages of the corresponding message clusters. One of the message clusters is identified as corresponding to a request from the system under test based on a comparison of the request with the respective cluster prototypes, and a response to the request for transmission to the system under test is generated based on the one of the message clusters that was identified. Related computer systems and computer program products are also discussed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2014Publication date: December 17, 2015Applicant: CA, INC.Inventors: Steven Cornelis Versteeg, Miao Du, Jean-Guy Schneider, John Collis Grundy, Jun Han

Publication number: 20150363214Abstract: In a method of service emulation, ones of a plurality of messages communicated between a system under test and a target system for emulation are clustered into message clusters. A request is received from the system under test, and one of the message clusters is identified as corresponding to the request based on a distance measure. A response to the request is generated using the one of the message clusters that was identified. Patent number: 9141979Abstract: Provided are methods of providing a virtual service that may provide partial real time service to clients of a production computing service that is unavailable. Methods may include generating, based on transaction data corresponding to a production computing service that is available, a production computing service model that includes multiple request types and multiple confidence values that correspond to ones of the request types. Methods may include responding to a request received from a client of the production computing service with a model-generated response to the request in response to the production computing service being unavailable. The production computing service is updated with the request received from the client and the model-generated response responsive to the production computing service being available after being unavailable.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2013Date of Patent: September 22, 2015Assignee: CA, Inc.Inventors: Victor Ooi, Steven Cornelis Versteeg, Robert Williams
