  • Publication number: 20210015540
Abstract: A cautery device for tissue-preserving cauterization of a target area has an atraumatic cauterizing tip for applying a current to the target area, the atraumatic cauterizing tip having a suction port therein and a sidewall surrounding the distal face having one or more vents therein. The cautery device also includes an opening of a suction tube that extends up into the cautery device for applying suction to the target area, and at least one actuator configured to move the atraumatic cauterizing tip in an oscillatory motion about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheath concurrently with application of the current and the suction.

  • Patent number: 10828082
Abstract: An electrocautery device for use in a surgical operation to coagulate tissue and/or organs in a patient. The cautery device includes a sheath defining a longitudinal axis, a handle coupled to a proximal end of the sheath, a cauterizing tip coupled to the distal end of the sheath, and at least one actuator configured to move the cauterizing tip relative to the sheath. The movement of the cauterizing tip is configured to mitigate the risk of tissue or organ adherence to the cauterizing tip during a cauterizing operation.
