    Abstract: This invention involves an improvement in immunoassay for carcinoembryonic antigen in biological fluids. The improvement comprises liberating carcinoembryonic antigen in the biological fluid by diluting the biological fluid with about 0.4-0.8 molar salt solution buffered at about pH 6-8 prior to conducting the immunoassay for carcinoembryonic antigen.
