  • Publication number: 20240105210
Abstract: A method and system are provided to facilitate statement acquisition and verification pertaining to an incident. One or more processors are operationally coupled to one or more software modules, configured to: receive audio data between a suspect and an officer at a portable radio, detect a pre-Miranda statement made by the suspect within the audio data; detect a Miranda warning made by the officer within the audio data; detect a waiving of Miranda rights by the suspect within the audio data; detect a post-Miranda statement by the suspect within the audio data after the waiving of Miranda rights; determine when a degree of semantic similarity between the pre-Miranda statement and the post-Miranda statement fails to satisfy an admissibility condition; generate one or more questions to induce the suspect to repeat the pre-Miranda statement; and present the one or more questions to an electronic user interface.

  • Publication number: 20230306545
Abstract: Technical methods, devices, and systems disclosed herein provide a predictive case-solvability score service. The predictive case-solvability score service generates case solvability scores for cases, detects events that signal those scores should be updated, updates a machine-learning model over time to ensure current trends in recent data are reflected, and identifies specific actions to recommend for increasing those scores. Furthermore, the predictive case-solvability score service provides an interface that allows users to perceive trends in case-solvability scores over time and to execute some of the specific recommended actions.

  • Publication number: 20220414082
Abstract: A device, system, and method for providing an indication that media has not yet been uploaded to a data store is provided. A device identifies a participant associated with an incident, the participant associated with a recording device. The device, in response to determining that media from the recording device has not yet been uploaded to a data store within a threshold time limit after occurrence of the incident: provides, at a display screen, an indication that the media has not yet been uploaded to the data store.

  • Patent number: 11501391
Abstract: A process for preserving chain of custody for digital evidence captured at a portable device. The portable device transmits a request to upload the digital evidence to the cloud server via an intermediary storage device. The request includes digitally signed evidence metadata with data integrity code and authentication credentials. The portable device receives a response indicating approval to upload the digital evidence to the cloud server via the intermediary storage device. The portable device transmits the digital evidence to the intermediary storage device for uploading to the cloud server, and further transmits a request for approval to delete the digital evidence from the portable device. The portable device deletes the digital evidence only after receiving a response from the cloud server indicating an approval to delete the digital evidence from the portable device.

  • Patent number: 11283923
Abstract: In order to address the above-mentioned need, a method for routing civilian calls to an associated public-safety officer is provided herein. During operation, a call processor receives a civilian call having a source identifier number identifying a source of the call and a target identifier number identifying a target of the call. A current status priority of the associated public-safety officer is determined as a function of the current assignment status, and when the current status priority is less than the incident record priority, the civilian call is routed directly to a mobile device associated with the associated public-safety officer. When the current status priority is greater than the incident record priority, the civilian call is routed directly to one of a public-safety answering point or an automated voice mail system.

  • Patent number: 10455133
Abstract: A digital image capture device streams captured images (e.g. low-resolution images) to a remote viewer terminal, along with image identifiers and/or device position information. The remote viewer terminal displays the images for viewing by a remote viewer. The remote viewer provides inputs to a user interface, which indicate a direction of desired movement of the image capture device, and/or that the remote viewer wants new images (e.g. high-resolution images) to be captured at a desired position. The user interface inputs are translated into requests, which are transmitted to the image capture device. The image capture device provides movement prompts that direct a device operator to move the device in a requested direction or toward a requested position. When a position of the device corresponds to a requested image capture position, the image capture device captures one or more new images, and transmits the new images.

  • Patent number: 9813484
Abstract: A communication system is provided that analyzes event-related media by correlating various media content based on the media being time-wise proximate to each other. Thereby, the communication system provides an informational tool for law enforcement agencies to correlate different media that all relate to a same event, such as subject matter media with related discussion media. For example, the subject matter media may comprise video, video stills, biometrics, sensor data, Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) data, pictures, BOLO (Be On the LookOut) bulletins, and the like, while the related discussion media may comprise Push-to-Talk talkbursts, telephone conversations, Instant Messaging (IM), emails, and other forms of discussion media. By correlating such media, the communication system facilitates event or incident reconstruction by providing related media together when providing event or incident playback.

  • Patent number: 9544534
Abstract: Multiple cameras are operatively connected over a shared link to a video server on a video network. The cameras are operated to capture a plurality of video streams. Each video stream has intra-frames and predictive frames that are sequentially generated timewise apart. A number of the video streams that transmit over the shared link on the network is identified. A number of intra-frames that are generated substantially simultaneously in the identified video streams is also identified. The identified intra-frames in the video streams are offset in time to minimize video artifacts from being present in the video streams being transmitted over the shared link.

  • Patent number: 9413941
Abstract: Embodiments include apparatus and methods to compensate for overshoot of a desired field of vision (FOV) by a remotely-controlled image capture device. The image capture device produces images associated with a plurality of FOVs, and transmits the images to a remote viewer terminal along with image identifiers (or FOV definitions for the images). The terminal receives and displays the images to a viewer. In response to viewer indications to pan or stop panning, the terminal sends pan and regress commands, respectively, to the image capture device. A regress command includes a reference to a selected FOV (e.g., an image identifier or an FOV definition). In response to receiving a regress command, the image capture device regresses to the selected FOV, and transmits additional images associated with the selected FOV to the terminal. The system also may include an intermediary device, which performs some of the functions associated with overshoot compensation.

  • Patent number: 9386252
Abstract: An embodiment takes the form of a process that includes transmitting video frames to a receiving device during a first transmission period of one or more time slots of a half-duplex air interface, and receiving feedback messaging from the receiving device during a feedback period of one or more time slots of the half-duplex air interface. The process further includes suspending, after the first transmission period, transmission of video frames for a suspension period of one or more time slots of the half-duplex air interface, and after the feedback period and after the suspension period, transmitting one or more recovery frames to the receiving device during a recovery period of one or more time slots of the half-duplex air interface. The one or more recovery frames collectively include inter-coded macroblock data and/or intra-coded macroblock data.
