    Abstract: Traditional solar control applications rely on thin metal films to reflect EM radiation with wavelengths longer than that of the visible spectrum. Unfortunately such films also block radiation in cellular, GPS, and radio frequency bands. In one aspect, the disclosure provides a selectively-blocking filter that uses one or more optical filters tuned to a specific range(s) of wavelengths (e.g. for blocking IR radiation), while readily transmitting other wavelengths (e.g. both visible light and cellular/GPS signals). The filters can be manufactured on both flexible and rigid substrates.

The system is arranged to automatically detect and notify store personnel of undesirable conditions, specifically: out of stock, low-stock, and rapid product dispensing or removal. The system consists of an FMS Intelligent Controller (FMS-IC) which is a microprocessor based input/output device mounted on the monitored display device or fixture, and sensors that are connected to inputs used to trigger the FMS-IC when a sensor senses the presence of an item of merchandise to be monitored. The FMS is battery powered and is used with various embodiments of fixtures that may be mounted to shelves within the retail environment.

    Abstract: A robust and efficient service-to-service communications protocol that handles change information in an identity-centric data access architecture. The protocol enables the automatic publication and subscription by services of changes made to data of millions of users. The protocol is role-based in that a user controls the users that can subscribe for the user's data changes and is efficient in that data is change data for users are combined and batched, and robust to handle failure scenarios. In one implementation, the a “publisher” refers to the .NET MyServices service which is the source of the data, while a “subscriber” refers to the .NET MyServices service that receives the data. The publisher and subscriber maintain updated information about each other's users in order to accomplish selective data communication and filtering. To provide robustness, requests are acknowledged, and until acknowledged, retried regularly for awhile, with delays between regular retries.

    Abstract: A probe is constructed for placement in the hot turbine section of a gas turbine engine. A housing containing two electrodes extends through the turbine shroud into the tip clearance area of the turbine rotor. A voltage impressed across the electrodes will generate an electric field in the vicinity of the turbine blades which will be distorted as the blades pass, thereby generating a charge pulse at the output of the probe. The electrode conductors are imbedded in pins which are retained by insulating rings brazed in place. The electrodes extend slightly outward from the surrounding insulating surfaces to create an air gap around each electrode. This air gap provides additional insulation and prevents contamination.
