Publication number: 20130118626Abstract: A flexible hose assembly for directing a compressed fluid towards a site is provided. The assembly includes, but is not limited to, a flexible hose, a nozzle, a stiffening wire, and a connecting member. The flexible hose forms an inner fluid channel and has an inlet at a first end which receives the compressed fluid and an outlet at a second end which delivers the compressed fluid. The nozzle is connected with an outlet of the flexible hose. The compressed fluid travels through the nozzle and is directed at the site. The stiffening wire is located in the inner fluid channel. The connecting member has an outlet channel located at the inlet and in the inner fluid channel. The outlet channel is surrounded by the flexible hose. A connecting end of the stiffening wire is fitted between the outlet channel and the flexible hose.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2011Publication date: May 16, 2013Applicant: ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC.Inventor: Steven E. Patent number: 8402773Abstract: A two-stage cooling system configured to cool an interior of an enclosure includes a cabinet, a first vortex tube secured within the cabinet, and a second vortex tube secured within the cabinet. The cabinet defines a venting chamber. The first and second vortex tubes each include a hot pipe within the venting chamber and a cool gas delivery pipe extending outwardly from the cabinet. The first and second cool gas delivery pipes are configured to deliver cold gas to the interior of the enclosure. A separate thermostat may be operatively attached to each vortex tube and extend outwardly from the cabinet to be positioned within the interior of the enclosure. Additionally, first and second dampening sleeves may be secured around at least a portion of the first and second hot pipes, respectively, such that the dampening sleeves dampen noise produced by the vortex tubes.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2009Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: Illinois Tool WorksInventor: Steven E. Patent number: 8134066Abstract: In one embodiment, a vortex tube has a gas inlet port, a cold gas outlet port and a hot gas outlet port. A thermoelectric potential generator having hot gas inlet port coupled to the hot gas outlet port of the vortex tube, a cold gas inlet port coupled to the cold gas outlet port of the vortex tube, and a thermoelectric element coupled in heat conducting relationship between the cold gas inlet port and the hot gas inlet port to promote the flow of heat/cold through the thermoelectric element from the hot gas flowing into the hot gas inlet port to the cold gas flowing through the cold gas inlet port. In another, a compressed gas source, a thermoelectric element having first and second sides, and an expansion nozzle are coupled in series. The expansion nozzle is coupled between the compressed gas source and the first side. The thermoelectric element includes an electrical output port.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2006Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Yury Shkolnikov, Zinovy Royzen, Anatoly Gosis, Steven E. Patent number: 8074372Abstract: A system configured to dry containers before a date coding process includes a blower assembly, an air manifold and a bracket assembly. The blower assembly includes a centrifugal air blower. The air manifold is connected to the blower assembly and includes a plurality of air nozzles. The air nozzles are configured to be positioned over a conveyor line, wherein the air nozzles are configured to expel air moved by the centrifugal air blower. The bracket assembly is configured to adjustably mount the air manifold over the conveyor line, wherein the bracket assembly allows the air manifold to be horizontally and/or vertically adjusted with respect to the conveyor line.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2008Date of Patent: December 13, 2011Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Allen S Pucciani, Steven E.
