    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
Inventors: Catherine S. H. Chen, Suzanne E. Schramm, Steven E. Wentzek
  • Patent number: 5380947
Abstract: The invention provides a composition of matter selected from the group consisting of ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl substituent groups having from 1 to about 8 carbon atoms, n is from 2 to about 20, m is from 2 to about 20, and Di is a substituted or unsubstituted diamondoid compound. The invention further provides diamondoid-containing ammonium salts, and a pharmaceutical treatment method using the compositions of the invention.
    Type: Grant

Inventors: Catherine S. H. Chen, Dong-Ming Shen, Steven E. Wentzek
  • Patent number: 5256391
Abstract: The invention provides a method for synthesizing a porous inorganic solid comprising the steps of: (a) forming a reaction mixture containing water, an alumina source, a silica source, an alkali metal oxide source, and a diquaternary ammonium salt having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a diamondoid group, n is from about 1 to about 50, and X is an anion which is not detrimental to the formation of said porous inorganic solid; and(b) recovering a porous inorganic solid from said reaction mixture.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 11, 1992
Date of Patent: October 26, 1993
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
Inventors: Catherine S. H. Chen, John L. Schlenker, Steven E. Wentzek
  • Patent number: 5120899
Abstract: A process is disclosed for separating diamondoid compounds from a natural gas stream containing the same comprising the steps of contacting the natural gas stream with a selected solvent and fractionating the sorbed diamondoids from the diamondoid-enriched solvent in a vacuum separation stage in the absence of reflux. Polyalphaolefin solvents are preferred, and polyalphaolefin solvents enriched in C.sub.30 oligomers are more preferred.
