  • Patent number: 9674635
Abstract: Applications are provided to communication devices provide flexible operation between default modes of operation and an expanded mode of operation in which both communication devices share capabilities. A purchase order is created for a plurality of communication devices. A determination is made as to whether a collaboration feature is enabled at each device. The collaboration feature being enabled at each device results in additional revenue to the ordering process. If collaboration is enabled at both devices at 306, 312, and then collaboration operation are enabled 316 which allows for predetermined operating features to be registered and additional revenue applied. The communication devices 102, 104 are then automatically linked (via information sharing link 120 using linkage application 140) to share capabilities of the registered features at 320. The resulting order comprises a plurality of communication devices that provided an expanded mode of operation when operating together.

  • Patent number: 7161145
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for identifying analytes at low concentrations in a liquid sample. The liquid sample is introduced through a continuous flow membrane inlet system. The analytes that permeate the membrane are analyzed by photoionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The analytes remaining in the liquid sample that do not permeate the membrane are conducted to a capillary tube inlet that introduces the liquid sample and other analytes as droplets into the photoionization zone. Any analytes remaining absorbed or adsorbed on the membrane are driven through the membrane by application of heat. Analytes may be analyzed by either resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) or single photon ionization (SPI), both of which are provided in the apparatus and can be selected as alternative sources.

  • Patent number: 5864137
Abstract: The invention provides a mass spectrometer having improved mass resolution, accuracy, sensitivity, reduced complexity, lower cost, and greater ease of use. The mass spectrometer provided comprises a first electrode and a second electrode, in a nested configuration to create a two-stage acceleration region that accelerates ions across a minimized acceleration region, resulting in decreased metastable decay and improved mass accuracy and resolution. The mass spectrometer also comprises a n alignment system to align the ion optics with the laser beam used for desorption/ionization. The mass spectrometer further comprises electrical circuits for delivering high voltage pulses for pulsed delayed ion extraction.

  • Patent number: 5002066
Abstract: In blood pressure monitoring apparatus, apparatus for withdrawing blood from a tube connected to a patient's blood vessel. A stopcock is connected to the tube. A T-connector is connected to one port of the stopcock. A storage syringe is connected to one branch of the T-connector and a latex self-sealing cap covers the other port to provide an IV site suitable for penetration with a syringe needle to withdraw a blood sample through the IV site. The storage syringe brings blood to the T-connector so that it can be withdrawn through the IV site.

  • Patent number: H414
Abstract: An ionization source comprises a housing defining a space, a wire extending o the space, a temperature control connected to the wire and an alkali metal glass bead attached to the wire to be heated by the temperature control. An ion extraction plate with an orifice therein covers the space and is insulated from the housing by an insulating ring. The housing includes a port for drawing a vacuum from the space and for leaking molecules into the space which are to form quasi ions on the glass bead. A focusing plate may also be provided over the extraction plate with an aperture lying on an ion axis which also extends through the orifice for the focusing of the ion beam.
