  • Patent number: 10737125
Abstract: A fall arrest device comprises a guide for a track member which, in use, passes through the device, a cam member including a cam portion, and a clutch responsive to at least one of the relative speed and relative acceleration of the fall arrest device and the track member. The clutch serves to determine when the relative speed and/or acceleration is at least a predetermined value. The clutch includes a trigger arm connecting to the cam member so as to move the cam portion of the cam member toward the guide so as to lock the track member between the cam member and the guide when at least the predetermined value is attained.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 12, 2018
Date of Patent: August 11, 2020
Assignee: Capital Safety Group (Northern Europe) Limited

  • Patent number: 9884211
Abstract: A fall arrest device comprises a guide (3) for a track member (7) which, in use, passes through the device, a cam member (9) including a cam portion, and a clutch (21) responsive to at least one of the relative speed and relative acceleration of the fall arrest device and the track member. The clutch serves to determine when the relative speed and/or acceleration is at least a predetermined value. The clutch includes a trigger arm (19) connecting to the cam member so as to move the cam portion of the cam member toward the guide so as to lock the track member between the cam member and the guide when at least the predetermined value is attained.

  • Patent number: 9517368
Abstract: An entry/exit gate assembly for a shuttle based fall protection system is provided. The entry/exit gate assembly includes a rail, a gate and a gate manipulation member. The rail has at least one entry/exit cutaway section. The gate is slidably engaged with the rail and the gate manipulation member coupled to selectively lock the gate in a static position in relation with the rail to block access to the at least one entry/exit cutaway section.

  • Publication number: 20150217147
Abstract: A rail lifeline fall protection turntable assembly is provided that includes a base member with rotating disk, a center rail, rail sections, stop members and corner members. The center rail is coupled to the rotating disk. Each rail section is coupled to the base member and is positioned to align with the center rail at a select rotational orientation of the rotating disk. The stop members are coupled to the rotating disk and are positioned to prevent a sliding shuttle from falling off one of the rail sections not aligned with the center rail. The corner members coupled to the base member and are positioned to prevent a sliding shuttle from falling off of the center rail when the center rail is not aligned with one of the rail sections.
