  • Patent number: 6428401
Abstract: A lens pad is provided for use on a lens clamp. The lens pad comprises a lens-engaging surface which, in turn, has a lens-facing recess located substantially centrally thereon. The lens-engaging surface thus is annular. Alternatively, the lens-engaging surface is more resilient toward a center thereof than toward a periphery thereof. Forces exerted by the lens pad against a surface of a lens when the lens pad is pressed against the surface therefore are less concentrated than such forces would be if the lens-engaging surface had no recess or variation in resiliency. Also provided is a clamp pad assembly. The clamp pad assembly includes a lens pad and a rotatable body for rotatably connecting the lens pad, at least indirectly, to a clamp arm. The clamp pad assembly also may include a swivel member which is pivotally mounted to the rotatable body for rotation therewith and for pivoting with respect thereto, in which case, the lens pad is mounted to the swivel member for rotation and pivoting therewith.

Date of Patent: August 6, 2002
    Assignee: National Optronics Incorporated
Inventors: Joseph J. Carey, Steven F. Hovanic, Ivy G. Haney

  • Patent number: 4882456
Abstract: A locking device for a circuit breaker or electrical switch handle includes a support member having an opening conforming to the shape of the switch handle housing or escutcheon and a pair of spaced apart upstanding flanges projecting from the opening. A lock pin extends through openings in the respective flanges and through an aperture in the switch handle to prevent movement of the handle relative to the support member. An arm connected to one end of the pin may be secured to one of the flanges by the shackle of a padlock or the like to prevent removal of the pin from the support member and from the switch handle.

  • Patent number: 4835501
Abstract: A current limiting assembly through which current may flow includes a stationary contact member, a movable contact member positioned in relation to the stationary contact member so that current flow through and from the stationary contact member into and through the movable contact member generates electromagnetic forces which create a repulsive force tending to force the movable contact member away from the stationary contact member, and a magnetic flux intensifying structure mechanically staked to said stationary contact member.

  • Patent number: 4181924
Abstract: A circuit breaker includes a recessed zone in the breaker housing for accommodating the bus clip of a mating circuit breaker when the breakers are mounted adjacent one to another on a panelboard. An arcuate groove of varying depths formed in the breaker housing communicates at its lower end with the recessed zone to permit the bus clip of the mating breaker to be moved from the recessed zone and along the arcuate groove, such that the mating breaker can be readily removed from, or installed into, the panelboard.
