  • Publication number: 20160101368
Abstract: A toy assembly is provided. The toy assembly may include a housing, a drive shaft mounted for rotation to the housing and defining an axis, a propeller with a central portion mounted for pivotal movement to the drive shaft, and two blades extending from the central portion to distal ends. The toy assembly may also include a circular safety ring extending about the drive shaft axis and secured to the distal ends, a motor secured to the housing and operably connected to the drive shaft, a power source in communication with the motor, a controller secured to the housing and configured to direct operation of the motor and power source, and a plurality of fins secured to the housing and extending away from the propeller. The toy assembly may further include a plurality of frame segments secured to the housing which may define an exo-skeletal frame. The exo-skeletal frame may define a region about the propeller.

  • Patent number: 6287193
Abstract: This invention relates generally to electronic and electromechanical games having a visual display in which the user can obtain feedback on his or her performance during, or after, play, play a game stored in memory, and/or interact with a virtual pet or other character and, more particularly, to a hand-held game apparatus comprising a rotatable body rotating about an axis of rotation incorporating a display coupled to the apparatus for displaying graphics and textual images, a controller coupled to the apparatus for receiving, processing, and outputting data, graphics, and textual images to the display, memory coupled to, and accessible by, the controller for storing information relating to the electronic game, a sensor coupled to the controller for receiving information related to the use of the electronic game and for transmitting the information to the controller, and one or more user inputs for inputting commands to the electronic game.

  • Patent number: 5934969
Abstract: A model kit for creating replicas of animals comprises a mold into which a casting material is placed to generate the chosen animal-like form. Components simulating internal organs of the creature are assembled and placed within the mold prior to casting, whereby they are embedded in the casting material. One or more of the components may simulate selected soft tissue organs or groups of organs, and may be of a bladder-like construction, allowing it to be filled with a liquid. The casting material sets to a thick gel-like consistency, allowing the material to be excised from about the internal organ components, whereby the user can "dissect" the creature.

  • Patent number: 4597744
Abstract: A battery motor driven toy has articulated front and rear sections that are extended and contracted about a horizontal pivot in a scissor-like action. Each of the sections carries a surface engaging wheel mounted for rotation only in the forward direction. A biasing force pulls the sections together while the motor drives the sections apart against the biasing force through a gear train that includes gear segments on each section. When the front section is driven, the rear section remains stationary but is pulled forward by the biasing force at the end of the drive cycle while the front remains stationary. Placement of the motor and other weight over the rear wheels results in the vehicle doing a "wheelie" when forward movement of the rear wheels is obstructed so that the front section rises up above the play surface while continuing to extend and retract in a snapping-like action. A counterweighted sound device is mounted under the rear section so that it is activated when the vehicle does a "wheelie".

  • Patent number: 4552363
Abstract: A game in which the players construct a three dimensional playing field during the course of play using pieces that include assigned tokens and common tiles. Each of the tiles is divided into a number of spaces such that each space is adapted to support either an assigned token or a portion of another tile with latter establishing a new level. A board provides a base surface with markings for the placement of the first level of tiles. Each of the tiles is constructed such that its upper surface can support other tiles or tokens. The tokens are supported by recesses located on the upper surface of the tiles. Other tiles are supported by intersecting slots located on the upper surface of the tiles. The game is won by the first player to place an assigned token atop a preselected level.

  • Patent number: 4540377
Abstract: A 4.times.4 conversion accessory for vehicles including a pair of spaced apart axles secured to an elongated transverse central frame member. Relatively large lugged wheels are attached to the ends of each axle for rotation with respect to the frame member. Mounting wells for releasably receiving the wheels of the vehicle are carried by the axles adjacent each lugged wheel to support the vehicle on the conversion accessory. Each well has a substantially solid outer circular wall and a spaced apart inner circular wall with a generally vertical slot extending down below the center of the inner wall. A telescoping frame member and mounting wells carried for sliding movement along the transverse axles accommodate vehicles having different wheel bases. In another version, the elongated frame member includes a compressible spring and releasable actuator for propelling a combined vehicle and 4.times.4 converter accessory.

  • Patent number: 4412682
Abstract: An action game device, in which the participants attempt to transfer objects from a receptacle to a receiver as quickly as possible, includes a pair of manually manipulatable elongate members for each player communicating with the receptacle through ports in upstanding barriers located on opposite sides of the receptacle. The ports constrain the freedom of movement of the elongate members according to their size. One end of each member is arranged to engage the objects located within the receptacle and the other end, located on the opposite side of an upstanding barrier, is arranged to be manually manipulated by the user. A receiver for the objects is located atop each upstanding barrier, generally positioned intermediately between each player's elongate members. The receiver includes an aperture, a backboard for the aperture, and a generally horizontally arranged guide for guiding the objects into the aperture. A collection tub is located beneath the aperture for receiving the objects collected.
