  • Publication number: 20070089390
Abstract: A method for dividing a field into zones with similar crop attributes and developing a mission plan for steering the harvester to selectively harvest crops based on one or more of the attributes. The attributes include protein level, starch level, oil level, sugar content, moisture level, digestible nutrient level, or any other crop characteristic of interest. The method can be applied to selectively harvest and/or segregate according to attribute any crop, including grains such as wheat, corn, or beans, fruits such as grapes, and forage crops. Directed crop sampling provides absolute value and variance information for segregated batches of harvested crop.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 25, 2005
    Publication date: April 26, 2007
Inventors: Larry Hendrickson, Terence Pickett, Steven Faivre
  • Publication number: 20060200334
Abstract: Presented herein is a method for predicting suitable times for performing a soil engaging operation within a field. The method includes the steps of accessing predicted values for weather and soil conditions, and then predicting values for one or more operation variables indicating operation suitability. The method then predicts suitability for performance of the soil engaging operation based on the predicted operation variables and selected suitability parameters.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 7, 2005
    Publication date: September 7, 2006
Inventors: Steven Faivre, Mark Stelford, Terence Pickett
  • Publication number: 20060196158
Abstract: Presented herein is a method for predicting suitable times for performing a crop harvesting operation within a field. The method includes the steps of accessing predicted values for weather, crop, and soil conditions, and then predicting values for one or more additional operation variables indicating operation suitability. The method then predicts suitability for performance of the crop harvesting operation based on the predicted operation variables and selected suitability parameters.
