    Abstract: A downhole flow control device includes a body to be secured within a wall of a tubular, wherein the body defines a flow path therethrough, with a nozzle mounted within the flow path. A dissipation structure is positioned on a first side of the nozzle, such that fluid flowing through the body in a first direction will exit the nozzle and impinge on the dissipation structure prior to exit from the flow control device.

The sealing material swells in the well to thereby form a seal between the tubular string portion and the window.
