    Abstract: A computer implemented method, a data processing system, and a computer program product backup an application and a file for the application. A set of backup parameters is received. The backup parameters include an indication of the application to be backed up. Responsive to receiving the backup parameters, a metadata indicator associated with the application is identified. A set of files associated with the metadata indicator is then identified. The set of files and the application are then forwarded to a backup storage for backup.
