  • Publication number: 20190037954
Abstract: A hard hat assembly is designed to be worn on a head of a user. The hard hat assembly includes a helmet shaped to cover an upper portion of the head of the user. The helmet defines a primary opening to receive the head therein. The helmet also defines a periphery about the primary opening. A brim extends outwardly from the helmet adjacent the periphery to a brim outer edge. A brim panel is removably securable to the brim and, along with the brim, creates one or more compartments between the brim and the brim panel. An electrical circuit is fixedly secured within the compartments.

  • Patent number: 9717849
Abstract: Some embodiments of an infusion pump system may include an occlusion sensor that can be used to detect when an occlusion exists in the fluid path between the medicine reservoir and the infusion site on the user's skin. Such an occlusion may occur, for example, when the fluid flow line (e.g., a cannula, infusion set tubing, or the like) is kinked. If the medicine dispensation path to the user is occluded, the user may receive no dosage or a lower dosage of the medicine. As such, the occlusion sensor can be used to indicate when the fluid is flowing or not flowing, thereby permitting the infusion pump system to communicate an alarm to the user if an occlusion exists.

  • Patent number: 9686136
Abstract: A method calibrates a sensor for a defined parameter using a calibration station adapted to receive the sensor while it is secured to a wearable device. The calibration station includes a device to close the space surrounding the sensor to control the space. A quantity of an element being measured/calibrated is injected into the space. The quantity of the element is then measured by the sensor. A measured signal is transmitted to the calibration station. The measured signal is compared to a predetermined level. The method identifies when the measured signal differs from the predetermined level by a threshold amount and indicates or adjusts the sensor, depending on the application.
