    Abstract: A thermal insulation and fire protection felt product is provided. The felt product includes a first layer including a first plurality of nonwoven mechanically entangled oxidized polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor fibers bonded together by a first plurality of melted thermoplastic polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fibers homogeneously mixed with the first plurality of mechanically entangled PAN precursor fibers. The first plurality of melted thermoplastic PPS fibers form a matrix of bond points between individual fibers of the first plurality of mechanically entangled PAN fibers. A second layer includes a second plurality of nonwoven mechanically entangled oxidized PAN precursor fibers bonded together by a second plurality of melted thermoplastic PPS fibers homogeneously mixed with the second plurality of mechanically entangled PAN precursor fibers.

The biasing device can be couplable to the housing and extendable into the exhaust pipe to engage the flapper, where the biasing device can be configured to bias the flapper toward the restricted position and can be configured to resist movement of the flapper between the restricted position and the full open position.

The recipient of that media-enabled message may receive and view the email text message along with the low-resolution images in typical fashion using an email or other client. The recipient may choose to view one or more of the embedded images in greater resolution by linking or activating those images, for instance by moving a cursor and clicking into the selected image or other object. Activating the image or other media object from within the email pane may seamlessly transport the user to the media server's Web page to view a larger-resolution version of that image, for instance using a media player. Video, audio and other media may likewise be inserted into messages.

    Abstract: A method for Internet protocol (IP) address discovery in a rapidly changing network environment is presented. A server and a client use an adaptive discovery polling process to determine an optimum heartbeat interval that minimizes network traffic and allows the server to monitor the client's source address. The client and server exchange discovery poll messages and heartbeat messages at varying time intervals in order to identify a computer network's timeout period or a network address translator's message block timeout period. Once the timeout period is identified, the client sends heartbeat messages to the server at an “optimum heartbeat interval” that is less than the identified timeout period in order to maintain the network connection. As a result, the server is able to send messages to the client without delay.
