  • Publication number: 20150258461
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic construction toy connection member that has a fist and second end where permanent magnet is disposed within the first end of the connection member and a ferromagnetic body is disposed in the second end. The ferromagnetic body may be a permanent magnet or a magnetizeable body. Both ends of the connector may be spherically shaped and form a closed surface bounding the magnetic bodies disposed therein. The first end may be of a truncated conical shape forming a closed surface boundary of the permanent magnet disposed therein.

  • Publication number: 20080200090
Abstract: The invention relates to a geometric construction toy for building geometrical structures and consists of a multiplicity of spherical magnetizable bodies which may be magnetically coupled to a connecting member. The connecting member has an upper boundary surface which is a concave surface of revolution and a lower boundary surface which is also a concave surface of revolution. The lower boundary surface is the mirror image of the upper boundary surface. A permanent magnet is captively carried by the connecting member and so disposed therein such that the poles of the magnet are located adjacent to or interiorly of the respective boundary surface thereby permitting a stable coupling of magnetizable bodies to each pole of the permanent magnet.

  • Publication number: 20080009218
Abstract: This invention relates to a construction toy for building an edifice by utilizing magnetic coupling between a superstructure and the sidewall panels and roof members to form the exterior surface of the edifice. The superstructure is formed by a plurality a horizontal frame members and vertical frame members coupled to each other by two, three, four, five, and six-way couplings. Each horizontal frame member carries intermediate its ends, a magnetizable member. Each sidewall panel carries a magnet adjacent an upper or lower edge for magnetically coupling with the magnetizable member. The roof members consist of planar panels, outside and inside corner members, truncated prism members, regular pyramid shaped members, and comparable shapes to form the exterior surface of the roof. Each of the roof members is so dimensioned and proportioned to permit a magnet to be carried by an interior surface for magnetically coupling with a magnetizable member to form at least a part of the roof.

  • Patent number: 6626727
Abstract: The invention relates to a geometric construction toy for building cubic and square profiles and consists of a multiplicity of like dimensioned magnetizable bodies and interconnecting members. The interconnecting members have an axis of elongation and magnetic ends which magnetize and couple with a respective magnetizable body along a mutually perpendicular axis of the magnetizable body. After coupling, the axis of elongation is axially coincident with one of the mutually perpendicular axis of the magnetizable body and at an angle of 90° to each of the other axes. The magnetic ends of the interconnecting members are tapered for insertion into cylindrical recesses extending axially into the outer surface of the magnetizable body to permit stable magnetic coupling along a mutually perpendicular axis of the magnetizable body.
