    Abstract: A seat for sailboats movable between an inboard position and an outboard position which is outboard of a gunwale. The appurtenance is constructed by way of a tubular frame with a fabric member attached to the frame by lacings. The frame has a C-shaped configuration with curved or generally L-shaped legs whose ends are hinged to brackets inside the boat spaced below the gunwale with a seat part which comes flush against the bottom of the boat in the inboard stowed position of the appurtenance.
