  • Publication number: 20130034508
Abstract: Processes for improving the taste of water-soluble surfactants using liquid-liquid solvent extraction, said process comprising the steps of: providing a water-soluble surfactant composition in need of treatment wherein said water-soluble surfactant composition comprises a water-soluble surfactant and one or more undesirable non-polar materials; contacting said water-soluble surfactant composition with an extraction solvent and water to form an extraction mixture comprising an aqueous phase and a solvent phase; and separating the aqueous phase from the solvent phase; wherein the extraction solvent is selected from solvents having individual Hansen solubility parameters of a dispersion force component (?D) ranging from about 15 to about 17 (MPa)0.5, a polar component (?P) ranging from 0 to about 9 (MPa)0.5 and a hydrogen bonding component (?H) ranging from 0 to about 11 (MPa)0.5.

  • Publication number: 20130017158
Abstract: An oral care composition comprising a stannous ion source and/or a zinc ion source; a phytic acid or a phytic acid salt or mixtures thereof; characterised in that the phytic acid or phytic acid salt has an average IPn of greater than 5.2. In a composition which comprises stannous, there is a decrease in soluble stannous whilst maintaining an equivalent efficacy to a composition comprising a higher level of soluble stannous and efficacy is observed for avoiding stain and astringency problems. When zinc ions are present, it has been surprisingly found that a decrease in soluble zinc can provide an equivalent antimicrobial efficacy to a composition comprising a greater level of soluble zinc.

  • Publication number: 20050092530
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved apparatus for measuring the weight of an object being carried by a fork lift truck. Accurate weight is obtained by combining the measurements of the tension load(s) exerted by the chain(s) used to lift and support the fork carrying carriage with a measurement of the vertical forces imposed on the carriage by the mast through the carriage guides that are used to contain carriage movement within the mast and support the moment created by the object being weighed. The weight thusly determined can be easily calibrated for both pitch and roll mast angles. The apparatus can be integrated into the mast system of the fork truck without significantly affecting the fork truck's load carrying capacity. Specifically, the scale apparatus does not increase the overturning moment created by the weight of the object as compared with that of the standard non-instrumented carriage.

  • Patent number: 6470729
Abstract: An opening tool is provided for separating an outer panel of a tailgate, decklid, door or the like from an interior panel in a repair process. The opening tool may work in conjunction with a closing tool which operates to re-secure the outer panel to the interior panel once the necessary repairs have been completed. The removal tool includes a mounting arm, a blade, a shoulder and optionally, a scratch resistor. The mounting arm may be adaptable to be mounted upon an air hammer. Upon removal of the outer door panel, the blade is wedged between the outer door panel and the interior door panel. The blade is integral to the mounting arm and the shoulder. As the blade travels along the hem flange in the removal process, the shoulder maintains the position of the blade as it separates the outer door panel from the interior door panel.
