Such a method can include quantitatively determining a threshold in the individual for an environmental level of an allergen produced by the cat and selecting a cat or a breed of cat that creates an environmental level of the allergen that is less than the threshold. Additionally, such a method can include lowering the allergens disseminated by the cat by treating the environment inhabited by the cat during a time period where the cat expresses elevated allergens.

The gene expression profiles were determined in adipose, liver, and muscle tissue of animals subjected to lean-promoting regimens such as consumption of a high protein diet, ingestion of conjugated linolenic acid, and/or increased exercise.

Abstract: Described herein is a combination containing polynucleotide molecules that are differentially expressed in osteoarthritis. Also described are methods that may be used for diagnosis and prognosis of osteoarthritis, as well as methods that may be used to screen test substances for effectiveness in treatment modalities for osteoarthritis. Also described are devices and kits that may be used with the described methods.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are dietary formulations and methods to mimic the physiological, biochemical and gene expression effects of calorie restriction without altering dietary intake.
