  • Publication number: 20240088936
Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an electronic device is described. An example electronic device includes a processor to place the electronic device in a transit mode. When in the transit mode, the processor is placed in an inactive state. The example electronic device also includes a wireless module. An example wireless module includes a wireless controller to, when in the transit mode, periodically activate a wireless transceiver of the electronic device. The example wireless module also includes the wireless transceiver to, when in the transit mode 1) connect to a wireless network and 2) transmit configuration information for the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20230281074
Abstract: In examples, an electronic device comprises a component, communication port, and a controller coupled to the component and the communication port. The controller is to store operational data of the component during operation of the electronic device. The controller is to provide the operational data to a peripheral device coupled to the electronic device in response to the electronic device establishing a wired connection to the peripheral device via the communication port, the operational data secured by a security credential of the controller. The controller is to receive a repair command from the peripheral device based on the operational data. The controller is to correct a malfunction of the component based on the repair command.

  • Publication number: 20230232336
Abstract: In some examples, an electronic device comprises a wireless transceiver to transmit a packet and a processor coupled to the wireless transceiver. The processor is to update a running average of a radiation level over a time period. The running average is based on a quantity of packets transmitted by the wireless transceiver during the time period and a radiation level associated with the quantity of packets. The processor is to determine whether the running average exceeds a threshold and to control transmission power for the packet based on the determination and based on a destination of the packet.

  • Patent number: 5644627
Abstract: A method and apparatus processes a voice message for a selective call transceiver (SCT) (110) in a selective call communication system. A fixed portion (100) of the system accepts and stores (602) the message, transmits (604) a message notification indicative of message size to the SCT, and transmits (608) the message to the SCT in response to receiving therefrom a first acknowledgment. The SCT receives (702) the message notification, and determines (704) whether sufficient memory space is available for storing the message. If so, the SCT transmits (706) the first acknowledgment, and thereafter receives and stores (708) the message. If not, the SCT notifies (716) the user about the memory insufficiency, and withholds (718) the first acknowledgment until an execution of a predetermined control sequence by the user within a predetermined period.
