  • Publication number: 20050211154
Abstract: Disclosed herein are nanostructures comprising distinct dots and rods coupled through potential barriers of tuneable height and width, and arranged in three dimensional space at well defined angles and distances. Such control allows investigation of potential applications ranging from quantum information processing to artificial photosynthesis.

  • Publication number: 20050170468
Abstract: The present invention relates to blocking the activity of IL-20 receptor polypeptide molecules. IL-20 is a cytokine that is involved in inflammatory processes and human disease. IL-20RA/IL-20RB is a common receptor for IL-20. The present invention includes anti-IL-20 receptor antibodies and binding partners, including anti-IL-20RA, anti-IL-20RB and anti-IL-20RA/IL-20RB antibodies as well as methods for antagonizing IL-20RA and IL-20RB, either individually or together, using such antibodies and binding partners.

  • Publication number: 20050082144
Abstract: An apparatus for peeling or cleaning food product that includes a plurality of rollers each coupled to a drive box, preferably a gear box, by a vibration dampening coupling that preferably is disposed exteriorly of one end of the roller and part of the frame of the machine that supports the roller. A drive that preferably is an electric motor is attached to the drive box such that a plurality of rollers is driven thereby. Such an arrangement enables rollers to be driven at speeds of 600 RPM and preferably 750 RPM or faster, which decreases processing time and increases capacity and throughput. In a method of operation, each roller is driven at a speed of 750 RPM or greater to peel or clean food product before being discharged from the machine. In one preferred method, the rollers are driven at speeds between 900 and 1200 RPM.

  • Patent number: 6150923
Abstract: An alarm system for detecting attempted theft of an article includes means incorporated in the article itself and arranged to transmit and to continuing transmitting an alarm signal when the article is removed from its original location. An example of the alarm system provides an audible alarm, or transmitted alarm, and is arranged to be operated when a thief removes or attempts to remove a car radio, cassette player, compact disc player or the like from a car. Unauthorized removal of the unit from a car is detected by the consequent breaking of an electrical circuit which may be the power supply connections to the radio from the car electrical system or may be the connections to the loudspeakers or the radio aerial.
