Patent number: 11306872Abstract: A structural component having an internal support structure extending between outer wall portions of the component with one or more compartments included within the support structure. The support structure has support members including internal walls positioned between and/or defined by the compartments. At least one support member connects between the outer wall portions of the component to enhance the structural integrity of the component. The structural component, including the internal support, are cast from a molten material, and in some cases the support members of the internal support structure are formed with a rectilinear configuration. In some cases the cast structural component is a container and the one or more compartments are configured to store a fluid, such as a gas or a liquid. One or more preforms can be used to form a container and may be retained or eliminated from the container after casting.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2019Date of Patent: April 19, 2022Assignee: LOUKUS TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Adam R. Patent number: 10431401Abstract: A device and related method temporarily restrict use of a control via one or more of lock out and tag out. The device includes a first and second portion. The first portion has a passageway adapted for the reception of a tie that extends through the first portion along a distance of passageway extension. The second portion has a tang and is movable relative to the first portion to move the tang transversely across the passageway relative to the direction of passageway extension to toggle the device between an opened position and a closed position. A tie may be received in the passageway and the reception of this tie in the passageway may prevent the device from being moved from the closed position back into the opened position due to inability of the tang of the second portion to be moved past the tie in the passageway of the first portion.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2016Date of Patent: October 1, 2019Assignee: Brady Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Steven J. Patent number: 9393176Abstract: Examples of infrared heating panels are described as having a non-linear power density profile along a length of the heating panel. The power density profile can include a first power density zone and a second power density zone, each zone corresponding to an area of the heating panel having a separate power density in response to a current flow. An infrared heating panel can include multiple heating elements arranged adjacently in a row and electrically connected together by at least two power buses extending perpendicularly across the heating elements. In one example, the first power density zone is located between a first power bus and an end of the heating elements. The second power density zone can be located between the first power bus and an opposite end of the heating elements. Infrared sauna systems and methods of generating heat for a sauna are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2014Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: TyloHelo, Inc.Inventors: Steven J. Publication number: 20140190537Abstract: Systems for providing a transportable human heating system include a portable infrared (IR) field tent configured to provide IR heat therapy to a patient in the field. The tent includes a free-standing enclosure having a support structure providing sides and a base. The base defines an open bottom of the enclosure. A flexible surface supported by the support structure forms at least one side wall of the enclosure. At least one side wall of the enclosure includes an openable panel that provides access through the side wall into an interior of the enclosure. The tent includes an IR heating panel secured to an inner surface of the enclosure for heating a patient within the enclosure. A human heating system can optionally include a patient support apparatus, such as a stretcher. An IR field tent can be configured to attach to the apparatus, thus enclosing a patient upon the apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2014Publication date: July 10, 2014Inventors: Steven J. Patent number: 8692168Abstract: Infrared heating panels are provided with an electrically insulative substrate that carries one or more infrared heating elements. Each heating element includes an elongated first segment attached to a first surface of the substrate and an elongated second segment electrically connected in series with the first segment. At least the first segment is a strip of an electrically resistive material adapted to emit infrared radiation in response to a current. The second segment is attached to the second surface of the substrate opposite from and in a parallel arrangement with the first segment such that a first current flowing through the heating element flows through the first segment in a first direction relative to the substrate and flows through the second segment in a second direction opposite the first direction. Saunas, heating systems, and methods for reducing electromagnetic emissions in an infrared sauna are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2010Date of Patent: April 8, 2014Assignee: TyloHelo Inc.Inventors: Steven J. Patent number: 8416531Abstract: Embodiments provide head suspension load beams formed from a sheet of material with one or more stiffening members molded on the sheet. In some cases the sheet material includes an out-of-plane portion extending out at a nonzero angle, and the stiffening member includes a rib formed on the sheet material about the out-of-plane portion of the sheet material. In some cases a void extending through the sheet material connects portions of a stiffening member on opposite surfaces of the sheet material. Ribs of stiffening material may also provide flow pathways for directing moldable material to portions of the sheet, such as for forming a rib about the sheet edge. A method of making a load beam includes placing a sheet material within an injection mold and bending a portion of the sheet material during the molding process.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2011Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: Benda CorporationInventor: Steven J.
