  • Patent number: 10787122
Abstract: A system and method configured to monitor use conditions of a vehicle and provide feedback to a user of the vehicle to maintain use within certain parameters is described. The description includes a plurality of sensors located proximate to the vehicle, each sensor configured to monitor at least one vehicle parameter, the plurality of sensors selected from an accelerometer, speed, temperature, mileage, oil level, oil pressure, run-time and location sensors, each sensor generating a signal encapsulating the monitored vehicle parameter and transmitting the generated signal to a control unit. The description includes a control unit that receives the generated signal from each of a plurality of sensors, the control unit including a memory that stores the received signal and selectively combines the received signal with other signals received from others of the plurality of sensors. The description includes a first transmitter coupled to the control unit capable of transmitting the combined signal.

  • Patent number: 10628888
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a first insured party may be automatically associated with first virtual home information including real world elements of a virtual home. The first virtual home information may also be automatically associated with first insurance policy information of the first insured party. A virtual home display request may be received from a remote insured party device associated with the first insured party. Responsive to the received virtual home display request, a rendering of at least a portion of the virtual home may be automatically facilitated based on the first virtual home information, including at least some of the real world elements, and the first insurance policy information. A selection of one of the real world elements may be received from the remote insured party device, and, responsive to the selected real world element, supplemental insurance information may be transmitted to the remote insured party device.

  • Patent number: 10380699
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed herein to determine an insurance premium discount based on telematics data. The system includes a computer memory and a processor in communication with the computer memory. The computer memory stores data indicative telematics data received from a sensor within a vehicle, including at least one of geo-position information of the vehicle and vehicle kinematics data. The processor is configured to identify safety events and associated safety event locations based on the telematics data. The processor is further configured to display to the driver indications of the safety events on a map display along with indications of safety events associated with other drivers.

  • Publication number: 20170270615
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed herein to receive preliminary telematics data collected by a smartphone and actual telematics data collected by a data collection device. The system includes a computer memory and a processor in communication with the computer memory. The computer memory stores the data indicative of preliminary telematics data collected by the smartphone, including at least one of geo-position information of the vehicle and vehicle kinematics data. The processor is configured to calculate an initial benefit based upon the preliminary telematics data, and apply the initial benefit in exchange for receiving the data indicative of actual telematics data via the data collection device within the vehicle. When the received data indicative of the actual telematics data meets a pre-determined condition, the processor may compute a final benefit based on the actual telematics data.
