Abstract: Supervising a distributed switch having a set of interconnected distributed switch processors each having its own set of components. State information about a distributed switch processor from the set of distributed switch processors is received. A graphical user interface (GUI) having a set of glyphs within one output unit is displayed. Each glyph from the set of glyphs representing a component of the distributed switch processor. Each glyph from the set indicates the state information about its own component.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) for a distributed switch is provided to a user; a set of operators being logged into the distributed switch. The set of operators can include a human operator and an automated system. A set of operator identifiers associated with the set of operators and login information associated with each operator identifier is received. The set of operator identifiers and their associated login information is displayed through the graphical user interface. A user response associated with a first operator identifier from the set of operator identifiers is received through the graphical user interface. A login state of a first operator from the set of operators is modified; the first operator is associated with the first operator identifier from the set of operator identifiers based on the received user response.

Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) can support the effective and efficient supervision of increasingly complex distributed switching hardware and software. The GUI can support a concurrent view of all processors and linkages comprising a distributed switching platform. The GUI can present users with a visual representation of all processors in the distributed switch and with a direct way to supervise those processors.

Abstract: A GUI component that enables display of a progress indicator that changes color in a first direction corresponding to an activity being completed and changes color in a second direction different from the first direction corresponding to the activity being undone. The GUI component displaying the progress indicator can be associated with other GUI components The GUI component displaying the progress indicator can also display checkboxes that each change from being unchecked to being checked corresponding to its own activity portion being completed and changing from being checked to being unchecked corresponding to its own activity portion being undone.

Abstract: A sparing cell GUI component that when displayed has a first interior portion of a first color corresponding to a first state information and a second interior portion of a second color corresponding to a second state information. The sparing cell can be associated with a GUI component to enable construction of a first set of instructions.
