    Abstract: A method of fracture acidizing whereby fluid is initially injected at a high rate and pressure, sufficient to create a fracture of desired dimensions in a formation, subsequently injected at a lower rate and pressure, sufficient to approximately maintain equilibrium with any fluid that leaks off from the fracture created and such that the fracture remains open without further extension, and finally contacting the fracture with acid to etch flow channels in the formation.
