  • Publication number: 20180100780
Abstract: A technique for detecting spills is disclosed. A number of electrodes within a portion of a surface are connected to a resistance meter. The resistance meter detects a spill by measuring a change in resistance between two or more electrodes when a fluid is spilled over the two or more of the electrodes. The location of the spill can also be determined based on a known location for each of the electrodes. The size of the spill can further be determined based on a number of electrodes which measured a change in resistance due to the spilled fluid.

  • Publication number: 20180091909
Abstract: A technique for detecting spills is described. A number of audio sensors detect a sound potentially associated with an object spilling on a surface and the audio data from the sensors is analyzed in order to generate an acoustical analysis of the sound. The analysis of the sound detected by the audio sensors is compared against a database of known sounds corresponding to a number of types of spill incidents. Based on a match detected between the analysis of the sound and a type of spill incident in the database of known sounds, the identity of the object spilled can be determined. The location of the spilled object can also be calculated by triangulating the sensor data from the audio sensors.

  • Publication number: 20180045700
Abstract: Described in detail herein are methods and systems for detecting moisture dissipated from perishable foods. Perishable foods can be disposed in shelving units and moisture sensors can be disposed with respects to the to the perishable foods. The moisture sensor can detect moisture dissipated by the perishable foods within range of the moisture sensor. The moisture sensors can transmit the amount of moisture detected to the computing system. The computing system can determine whether at least one perishable food item within the range of the moisture sensors is damaged or decomposing based on the amount of moisture detected.

  • Publication number: 20170250992
Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine readable medium are provided for improving access to electronic data. An application is provided that generates a graphical user interface on a first client device requesting the server-based application via a web browser on the first client device. Credentials from a user of the first client device. After authorization of the user credentials, input from the user is received via the graphical user interface indicating an URL for a website, a file path for a document, and text. The entered input is stored in a local browser cache on the first client device and in a remotely-located database as being associated with the user credentials. Subsequently, a display is generated on the first client device, by the application, of electronic data related to the entered input.

  • Publication number: 20170228801
Abstract: A charitable giving method is disclosed that uses a social media platform to bring together individuals, businesses, and charitable causes. The use of the social media platform incentivizes individuals and businesses to increase their financial support to charitable causes. The individuals register certain demographic and psychographic information on the social media platform, and that information is used by the businesses and charitable causes in conjunction with directing charitable giving. The individuals and businesses gain recognition for their charitable donations through a visual representation on the charitable social media platform as well as on other social media platforms where the information is shared. The visual representation may be graphical symbols, numerical values of charitable impact, or name/pictures shown in lists displayed on the social profiles of the individuals or businesses that contribute or someone else's profile pages.

  • Patent number: 9650912
Abstract: A system and device to prevent damage during over-speed condition in a turbo-machine. In one embodiment, the system includes a fluid circuit with a header, which couples to the turbo-machine, and a hydraulic circuit through which fluid evacuates the header to a drain during the over-speed condition. The hydraulic circuit includes a trip header manifold with a pilot element in flow connection with a drain valve element having an actuator to regulate flow of fluid from the header. For example, the pilot element uses a pair of solenoid valves to change pressure of a fluid in the drain valve element and maintains the actuator in a first position to prevent fluid evacuation during normal operating conditions. When over-speed condition is detected, the solenoid valves change state, reducing the pressure of the fluid, permitting the actuator to move to a second position placing the header in flow connection with the drain.
