Publication number: 20220302745Abstract: Selective discharging of a rechargeable battery pack across a power supply system load is provided, which includes determining occurrence of a condition within the power supply system, the power supply system including a power supply circuit and a backup energy source. The power supply circuit receives main input power, and the backup energy source is operatively coupled to the power supply circuit to supply backup power to the system load when main power input to the power supply circuit is unavailable. Based on determining occurrence of the condition within the power supply system, a controller actively discharges a rechargeable battery pack of the backup energy source. The actively discharging includes controlling the power supply circuit to force discharging of power from the rechargeable battery pack to the power supply system load by suspending the main input power within the system from powering the system load.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2021Publication date: September 22, 2022Inventors: Noah SINGER, Steven John AHLADAS, Robert K. Publication number: 20220300483Abstract: Methods for snapshot isolation query transactions in distributed systems are performed by systems and devices. Distributed executions of queries are performed in a processing system according to an isolation level protocol for data management and data versioning across one or more data sets, one or more compute pools, etc., within a logical server via a single transaction manager that oversees the isolation semantics and data versioning. Read transactions of queries are performed lock-free via the isolation semantics, and instant rollbacks, point-in-time queries, single-phase commits in the distributed systems are also provided. Abort and cleanup operations are performed based on a distributed abort protocol and a determined oldest active transaction for the system in which the single transaction manager does not track read-only transactions, and client nodes do not maintain commit tables for transactions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2021Publication date: September 22, 2022Inventors: Sarvesh SINGH, Hari Krishna SUNDER, Srikumar RANGARAJAN, Steven John LINDELL, Sandeep LINGAM

Publication number: 20220237313Abstract: Direct access to host memory for guests is disclosed. For example, a system includes a processor, a host memory, a filesystem daemon, a guest including a storage controller, and a filesystem queue accessible to the filesystem daemon and the storage controller. The storage controller receives a file retrieval request associated with a file stored in the host memory and forwards the file retrieval request to the filesystem daemon by adding the file retrieval request to the filesystem queue. The filesystem daemon retrieves the file retrieval request from the filesystem queue, determines a host memory address (HMA) associated with the file, and causes the HMA to be mapped to a guest memory address (GMA). The guest accesses the file in the host memory with the GMA, and later terminates access to the file, where the filesystem daemon is then configured cause the GMA to be unmapped.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2022Publication date: July 28, 2022Inventors: Stefan Hajnoczi, Vivek Goyal, David Alan Gilbert, Steven John Whitehouse, Miklos Szeredi

Publication number: 20220239844Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes initializing latent codes respectively associated with times associated with frames in a training video of a scene captured by a camera. For each of the frames, a system (1) generates rendered pixel values for a set of pixels in the frame by querying NeRF using the latent code associated with the frame, a camera viewpoint associated with the frame, and ray directions associated with the set of pixels, and (2) updates the latent code associated with the frame and the NeRF based on comparisons between the rendered pixel values and original pixel values for the set of pixels. Once trained, the system renders output frames for an output video of the scene, wherein each output frame is rendered by querying the updated NeRF using one of the updated latent codes corresponding to a desired time associated with the output frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2022Publication date: July 28, 2022Inventors: Zhaoyang Lv, Miroslava Slavcheva, Tianye Li, Michael Zollhoefer, Simon Gareth Green, Tanner Schmidt, Michael Goesele, Steven John Lovegrove, Christoph Lassner, Changil Kim

Patent number: 11382060Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for paging User Equipment (UE). According to embodiments, repetition of paging can help UEs to more reliably receive pages when they are operating in idle mode DRX, and in particular enhanced idle mode DRX (eDRX). The UE and the eNB are cooperatively configured to determine an eDRX time interval and a value for paging occasion (PO) repetition based on one or more parameters, such as UE mobility requirements; UE power requirements; latency requirements, and timing discrepancies between base stations. The base station transmits pages, and the UE monitors for said pages, with timing that is based on the eDRX time interval and the PO repetition values.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2016Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Assignee: SIERRA WIRELESS, INC.Inventors: Gustav Gerald Vos, Steven John Bennett
