  • Publication number: 20140269760
Abstract: Aspects relate to arbitrating access to an interconnect among multiple ports. For example, input ports receive requests for access to identified destination ports and buffer these in one or more FIFOs. A picker associated with respective FIFO(s) begins an empty arbitration packet that includes a location for each output port and fills one or more locations in the packet, such as based on a prioritization scheme. Each packet is passed in a ring to another picker, which performs a fill that does not conflict with previously filled locations in that packet. Each picker has an opportunity to place requests in each of the packets. Results of the arbitration are dispatched to reorder buffers associated with respective output ports and used to schedule the interconnect. Each arbitration cycle thus produces a set of control information for an interconnect to be used in subsequent data transfer steps.

  • Patent number: 8833027
Abstract: A building panel having a hollow elongate structure with a generally rectangular cross-sectional profile. The elongate structure has first and second outer skins joined by parallel first and second side walls. A connection device of first and second ribs is on each side wall to connect to adjacent panels to form a segment of a wall or roof. The elongate structure includes two inner web skins extending between the first and second side walls to divide the interior of the elongate structure into three chambers. The triple chamber profile provides the panel with additional structural strength and rigidity, as well as improved thermal and sound insulation properties. The lower chamber may be fitted with a polycarbonate sheet to increase thermal and acoustic performance. The panel is polycarbonate.

  • Patent number: 8832233
Abstract: Exemplary methods and systems relate to the handling of a communication request by a wearable computing device. For example, a wearable computing device may respond to communication requests by sharing real-time media that portrays the device's surroundings and the activity of a user associated with the device. The wearable device or a server system communicatively linked to the wearable device may perform the reception and transmission functions. This process may proceed automatically or as a result of user-input and may additionally involve procedures for accepting or rejecting the communication request.

  • Patent number: 8822931
Abstract: When constructing a nuclear detector module in a gantry, a plurality of overlapping light guide modules (10) are mounted to the gantry in a spaced-apart fashion, and a plurality of underlapping light guide modules (12) are mounted in between each pair of overlapping light guide modules (10). Each of the underlapping modules and the overlapping modules includes a scintillation crystal array (16) on an interior surface thereof, and a plurality of PMTs on an exterior surface thereof. Overlapping modules (10) have overlapping structures (22) that interface with underlapping structures (18) on the underlapping modules (12) and thereby eliminate a seam directly beneath PMTs that overlap the crystal arrays of both an overlapping module and an underlapping module. Optical grease is used to form a resilient grease coupling and reduce light scatter between the underlapping and overlapping modules.

  • Patent number: 8819594
Abstract: A technique for handling user-interface gestures in non-rectangular regions of a graphical user interface includes creating a class comprising an event handler for an onmouseover event and an event handler for an onmouseout event. The technique further includes adding each of a group of graphical elements to the class. Adding a graphical element to the class includes adding a reference to the graphical element to the class and attaching the event handlers to the graphical element. The technique then identifies a specific graphical element in the group that triggered an invocation of one of the event handlers. The technique then determines the closest border of the specific graphical element to the mouse pointer. In the event another graphical element in the group shares the closest border, the technique stops either the onmouseover or onmouseout event from propagating.
