Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a valve seat (20) for a poppet valve of an internal combustion engine, wherein the poppet valve comprises a head and a stem behind the head, the valve seat comprising: an aperture (21) configured to form a seal with the head of the poppet valve when the poppet valve is in a closed position; and a peripheral body (22) defining, at least in part, one or more ports (23) shaped like e.g. grooves and sized to enable injection of liquid or gas from a cylinder head of the internal combustion engine into a gas stream behind the head of the poppet valve.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides components of packaging that is adapted for storing a product including a container having a body and a cover. The body and the cover define an internal storage compartment adapted for storage of a product. The body is configured to interact with the cover so as to form a joint when engaged. A sealing member is configured to substantially cover the joint, wherein the material of the sealing member is continuous and uninterrupted, thus limiting moisture loss from a product within the internal storage compartment. The sealing member is further configured to tear in a direction that is substantially parallel to the joint of the container.

Abstract: A method of assigning parent-of-origin to a haplotype, a sub-haplotype or an allele associated with a haplotype. Chromosome-length haplotypes of a genome are generated and a differential methylation status of at least one imprinted differentially methylated region (iDMR) associated with each one of the autosomal chromosomes is determined. The differential methylation status of the at least one iDMR is used to assign parent-of-origin for each one of the chromosome-length haplotypes.

Abstract: A mulling system includes a first joining plate with a first plate member, a second plate member, and a first thermal breaker that extend longitudinally along a mulling axis with the first thermal breaker attaching the first and second plate members. The mulling system includes a second joining plate that includes a third plate member, a fourth plate member, and a second thermal breaker that extend longitudinally along the mulling axis with the second thermal breaker attaching the third and fourth plate members. The second joining plate is configured to attach to the first joining plate to join together first and second fenestration units with the mulling axis extending between the first and second joining plates. The first joining plate substantially matches the second joining plate to define a corresponding rotated and engaged arrangement of the first joining plate and the second joining plate across the mulling axis.

Abstract: Methods of inhibiting the spread of African swine fever virus and/or classical swine fever virus in animal feed, feed ingredients, and pet food are provided. The methods utilize generally safe chemical mitigants, such as medium chain fatty acids. The chemical mitigants are effective when introduced to the feed or feed ingredients at inclusion rates much lower than previous methods for inhibiting other microbes. The methods are particularly suitable for use in post-processing treatment of animal feed, feed ingredients, or pet food that will be transported and stored for multiple days or weeks.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining a demographic associated with a viewer that watches a selected video is provided. The method includes receiving, at a computing device having one or more processors, video data including applied data and referral data. The applied data includes metadata that describes content of a first collection of videos. The referral data includes data associated with a second collection of videos that were previously viewed before the selected video and referred to the selected video. A taxonomy of content is generated that classifies an audience type of the video data. An audience model is generated based on the taxonomy. The audience model has a dataset related to at least one of age and gender of the viewer that watches the selected video. An affinity of the viewer toward a particular video is determined based on the taxonomy of the content.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides filter materials adapted for use as a filter element in an aerosol delivery device and methods of forming such filter materials suitable for use as a filter element in such devices. The disclosure provides, in some embodiments, a filter material which includes a plurality of fibers selected from the group consisting of regenerated cellulose, hemp, sisal, esparto, kenaf, jute, flax, wood, reconstituted tobacco, and combinations thereof, wherein the filter material is in the form of a nonwoven sheet or a fibrous tow.

Abstract: A layered control panel for a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) unit includes an outer layer on which low-voltage components are placed, and an inner layer on which high-voltage components are placed. The outer layer is capable of taking a closed position where it blocks access to the inner layer, and an open position where the outer layer does not block access to the inner layer. The outer layer can include a lock to keep the outer layer in the closed position. The outer layer can be one or two or more panels mounted on hinges that allow the outer layer to swing between closed and open positions.

Abstract: An oral product in the form of an edible film is provided herein. The edible film can include a binder in an amount of at least about 30 percent by weight; a plasticizer in an amount of at least about 5 percent by weight; and an active agent, wherein the edible film is orally dissolvable. The edible film can also be used as a component of another oral product, e.g., a fleece-based pouched product. The edible film can form a coating on a portion of an interior or exterior surface of a fleece-based pouched product.

The pouched product can include an outer water-permeable pouch defining a cavity containing a composition that includes a water-soluble component capable of being released through the water-permeable pouch and has a surface area, wherein the outer water-permeable pouch can include a nonwoven web including fibers, wherein at least a portion of the fibers are selected from the group consisting of polyester fibers in an amount of 20% or greater based on the total weight of the fibers, tobacco-derived viscose, sisal fibers, corn silk fibers, long wood fibers, MCC fibers, and combinations thereof.

Abstract: The disclosure provides pouched products configured for oral use, including a material within a porous pouch, where the porous pouch has four sides of small dimension, where the porous pouch has four sides of large dimension, and/or wherein the porous pouch has a shape other than square or rectangular, e.g., a rounded shape. The disclosure further provides methods of providing a modified mouthfeel with respect to conventional pouched products by providing pouched product in such sizes and/or shapes.

Abstract: A unit for mixing and dispensing an aerosol precursor composition, and containers to be dispensed therefrom. The unit includes a plurality of bulk material filling stations, the plurality of bulk material filling stations have at least one first filling station with aerosol former and at least one second filling station with a flavor material for creating the aerosol precursor. The disclosure further provides methods for forming electronic smoking articles and methods of packaging electronic smoking articles (including cartridges thereof) so as to improve moisture control of the reservoir.

Abstract: A filter element for use in a smoking article includes a filter material comprised of paper sheet having a crimped three-dimensional structure. Polyethylene glycol, triethyl citrate, or triacetin is interacted with the filter material to increase the selective removal of semi-volatile compounds from mainstream smoke being drawn through the filter element, over the filter material alone. An associated method of making a filter element for use in a smoking article is also provided.

Abstract: The disclosure provides oral pouched products in the form of a porous pouch defining a cavity containing a composition adapted for oral use, wherein the porous pouch is formed from a fleece material comprising two or more layers, wherein the two or more layers are in direct contact with one another. The disclosure also provides pouched products that include at least one layer of fleece material and at least one layer of a gel that is in direct contact with the fleece material. The disclosure also provides methods of forming such pouched products and for controlling/tailoring certain properties of pouched products using such multi-layered and/or gel-based approaches.
