Inventors: Jie Yang, Naimul Karim, Todd D. Jones, Dwight W. Jacobs, Steven Keck, Kristen Keller, Richard Yufeng Liu
  • Patent number: 10606674
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for prognostic network management may include (1) monitoring a health indicator of a physical component of a device in a network, (2) using the health indicator to estimate a remaining useful life of the physical component, (3) detecting that the remaining useful life of the physical component has reached a predetermined threshold, and (4) reconfiguring the network in response to detecting that the remaining useful life of the physical component has reached the predetermined threshold so that failure of the physical component does not cause the network to become unavailable to any user of the network. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 1, 2017
Date of Patent: March 31, 2020
    Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc
Inventors: Elmer Tolentino, Graham S Pritchard, Steven Keck, Jayesh Champaneri, Dharini Hiremagalur

  • Patent number: 9184834
Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an optical transmitter system that defines an interferometric structure and has an in-phase portion and a quadrature portion. The optical transmitter system has a transmission configuration and a calibration configuration. The interferometric structure can produce an output associated with a skew between the in-phase portion and the quadrature portion of the optical transmitter system when in the calibration configuration. The skew is associated with a digital domain, an analog domain and an optical domain of the optical transmitter system.

  • Patent number: 8948614
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques to utilize pluggable photonics module in high data rates optical communications systems such as some coherent optical communications system. The pluggable photonics module plugs into a host board. The host board includes a processor that compensates for distortion caused by data streams traveling across the pluggable interfaces that the pluggable photonics module and host board use to couple to one another.
