  • Patent number: 10470890
Abstract: A medical grade thermoplastic or polymer implant with an osteoconductive coating is provided, specifically for corrections of the distal and proximal interphalangeal toe joints of the foot. The implant can be either straight or angled, and can be either solid or cannulated for insertion. The implant is sized and shaped depending on the specific anatomy and desired correction. End portions of the implant may be coated with an osteoconductive coating that promotes bone growth, but may reduce radiolucency. Thus, a central portion of the implant may remain uncoated to increase radiolucency of the implant at the region where two bones come together.

  • Patent number: 10448981
Abstract: An internal fixed bone plates provided for load bearing and non-load bearing fixation for a rotational or translational osteotomy procedure for hallux valgus correction in the first metatarsal bone of the foot. The example include a set design plate having screw holes for attachment of the fixed bone plate to the first metatarsal bone of the foot. Screw holes are located on the plate, including screw holes on top or sides of the plate and screw holes at the ends of the plate. A temporary small holding wire hole may be located in the plate to hold the plate to the bone temporarily. This plate allows both angled screw fixation of various movable, rotational and translational osteotomy and locking screw hole capability to ensure stability when fixating the preferred rotational and translational osteotomy procedure.

  • Publication number: 20150335365
Abstract: An internal plate fixation device is provided for load bearing and non-load bearing fixation for the Mau-type osteotomy procedure for hallux valgus correction in the first metatarsal bone of the foot. The preferred example includes a set design plate having screw holes for attachment of the plate to the first metatarsal bone of the foot. Screw holes are located on the plate, including screw holes on top of the plate and screw holes at the ends of the plate. A temporary small holding wire hole is located in the plate to hold the plate to the bone temporarily. This plate allows both angled screw fixation of the Mau osteotomy and locking screw hole capability to ensure stability when fixating the Mau osteotomy.

  • Publication number: 20150282819
Abstract: A disposable or re-usable handheld, one piece device is provided for pre-drilling and application of a shape memory or elastic staple for fixation in bone surgery. Various embodiments include a one piece device that has set holes at one end to allow for pre-drilling for the shape memory or elastic staple legs and includes an application feature at the other end to disengage the shape memory or elastic staple from the one piece device. The one piece device can come in different sizes depending on the size of the shape memory or elastic staple. The one piece handheld shape memory or elastic staple holder and drill guide allows for a handheld device to accomplish both pre-drilling and application of the shape memory or elastic staple for surgical bone fixation procedures.
