  • Patent number: 12263277
Abstract: Oral cavity wound healing occurs in an environment that sustains ongoing physical trauma and is rich in bacteria. Patients undergoing cleft palate repair have a high degree of wound healing complications, such as oronasal fistula (ONF) formation. Following hard palate injury, ONF was created that demonstrated little change in pro-regenerative monocytes LY6Clo monocytes; however, there were increased M2 macrophages observed. Delivery of FTY720 nanofiber scaffolds following hard palate injury prevented ONF formation, allowed complete wound healing and was associated with increased LY6Clo monocytes and pro-regenerative M2 macrophages. Evaluation of interleukin gene expression revealed reduction in pro-inflammatory IL1 and IL6 and increased expression of pro-regenerative IL10 with FTY720 nanofiber delivery.

  • Patent number: 12085292
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a humidifier device and system for regulating a microclimate in a predefined microenvironment within a predefined area. The system including a humidifier device having a vapor source configured to produce water vapor or moisture, and an airflow source configured to produce airflow, a plurality of sensors, each sensor configured to measure absolute humidity data and/or temperature data; a control unit in operative communication with the humidity unit for controlling operation of the humidity unit; a specialized housing for containing the components; and a tank configured to removably couple with the housing. The system may employ sensors may located at different, predetermined positions and technology such as predictive analytics using positional data and sensed data from the various sensors for controlling humidity and regulating the microclimate. Also disclosed herein are methods for using the disclosed humidifier devices and system.

  • Patent number: 10398810
Abstract: In various embodiments, a nasal aspirator has a suction device having an input port, a nasal aspirator tip having a first body portion and a second body portion that is releasably coupled to the first body portion. The second body portion has an input port that is in fluid communication with an output port that is formed on the first body portion. A hollow tube has a first end that is coupled to the suction device input port and a second end that is coupled to the first body output port. In some embodiments, the suction device is configured to be releasably attached to the body of a user via a strap and the nasal aspirator tip is configured to be grasped between two adjacent fingers on the user's hand while leaving at least two other fingers on the user's hand free to manipulate the head of a child on which the nasal aspirator is being used.
