  • Publication number: 20200232664
Abstract: An exhaust extraction system for a train is disclosed. The system includes: a stationary duct having a duct wall that defines a plurality of openings; a suction source for creating suction in the interior of the stationary duct; at least one cover flap covering the plurality of openings; a guide track extending longitudinally in spaced parallel relation to the stationary duct; and a carriage that is movable along the guide track. The carriage includes an exhaust duct having an outlet at a first end and an inlet at a second opposite end, the inlet for receiving exhaust gas from a locomotive, and a support frame for supporting the exhaust duct in a fixed vertical position. The carriage is operable to move the at least one cover flap to uncover one or more of the plurality of openings that align with the outlet as the carriage moves along the guide track.

  • Publication number: 20160368513
Abstract: In an embodiment, there is provided a train service system. The train service station includes a recirculating line having a water inlet for receiving water from a water supply into the recirculating line and a plurality of water outlets. Three or more of the water outlets are located within forty feet of a railroad track. The train service station also includes a heater heating the water in the recirculating line to between 150 degrees Fahrenheit and 195 degrees Fahrenheit. The train service station also includes three or more hoses connected to the three or more of the water outlets located within forty feet of the railroad track.

  • Publication number: 20090255907
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a metal body of a predetermined shape by the deposition of a weld material. The apparatus comprises a support base on which the body can be formed, a means for rotating the base about an axis, a welding torch for depositing weld material to form the body, the body, as it is formed, being supported on the base as it rotates. The welding torch is operable for linear movement, relative to the base, in at least two perpendicular directions in a plane. One of those directions is parallel to the axis of rotation of the base. There is also provided a template support located remotely from the welding torch. Guiding means for guiding the linear movement of the welding torch relative to the base are also provided, the guiding means comprising means for mechanically following a shape of a template when secured on the template support. In operation as the base rotates, weld material is deposited to form a three-dimensional body having a profile similar in shape to that of the template.
