    Abstract: A asynchronous inertial navigation system uses two asynchronous clocks, a first clock for an inertial measurement unit and a second clock for an inertial navigation processor, where the inertial measurement unit communicates asynchronously rate data samples to the inertial navigation processor that measures the time separation of the received rate data samples for computing a navigation solution using an asynchronously attached inertial measurement unit.
