  • Publication number: 20080031930
Abstract: A process for coating a perforated substrate with a gel (e.g. a polymerised acrylate hydrogel or a xerogel) without substantial occlusion of the perforations comprises (i) forming a layer of a liquid pregel mixture, comprising one or more monomers, on a web coated with a silicone, polyethylene, Teflon® or other coating having a surface energy less than the surface energy of the liquid pregel mixture. Preferably at least part of the curing takes place while the liquid pregel mixture is in contact with both the perforated substrate and the web. The process is especially applicable to the manufacture of attachment tabs for wigs and toupees, wound dressings, patches for transdermal drug delivery, therapeutic patches or biomedical electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20070221138
Abstract: A variable voltage electronic pet training apparatus. The variable voltage electronic pet training apparatus controls the intensity of the stimulation by the controlling the voltage level present at the primary side of the transformer while maintaining a fixed signal to the correction pulse switch. A trigger signal contains information about the desired stimulus intensity level. A controller interprets the trigger signal and produces a voltage control signal associated with the desired energy level. Application of the voltage control signal to a power converter keeps the voltage level applied to an energy storage capacitor sufficient to produce the desired stimulation intensity.

  • Publication number: 20070222691
Abstract: An animal training apparatus including an electrical conductor embedded within a flexible member, and a housing having a through-opening for receiving the electrical conductor therethrough. The flexible member is molded around the electrical conductor and the antenna, while the electrical conductor is positioned such that it extends into the housing through the through-opening. As a result of the molding process, the flexible member shields the housing through-opening, discouraging substances such as water from accessing the interior of the housing via the through-opening.

  • Publication number: 20070113797
Abstract: Described is a pet gate device for generating a non-tangible electrical pet barrier and for generating a non-tangible electrical pet passageway. The pet gate device includes a signal generating device and a receiver. The signal generating device is adapted to generate at least two different signals, namely a barrier signal and a passageway signal. The signal generating device includes a transmitter for transmitting the generated signals. The receiver is adapted to receive the transmitted signals and to recognize whether the barrier signal or the passageway signal is being generated and transmitted. The receiver is adapted to administer a stimulus to the pet when the receiver recognizes the barrier signal. Conversely, the receiver is adapted to not administer a stimulus to the pet when the receiver recognizes a passageway signal.

  • Patent number: 5947748
Abstract: A connection scheme for a Programmable Logic Controller is taught. Briefly stated, a printed circuit board having a plurality of electrically conductive traces therein and a plurality of electrically conductive fingers associated with the conductive traces is disclosed. The pitch and size of the conductive fingers coincide with that of a PLC I/O connector. One or more of a plurality of interconnective devices may be connected to the printed circuit board thereby minimizing adverse thermal effects from adjacent thermocouple wires or providing for use of various interconnection devices or signal conditioning such as switches, displays, discrete devices and the like.

  • Patent number: 5699385
Abstract: In a receiver for receiving a carrier modulated with data, there is provided a system for locating and tracking said carrier. The carrier is located by sweeping a frequency range containing said carrier. False lockup are inherent when a wide frequency sweep demodulator attempts to lock onto a carrier, and the system recognizes such lockups by monitoring data from a Viterbi error correction circuit. On false lockup, the system breaks the lockup and continues the sweep until the true data carrier is located and tracked.
