  • Patent number: 10961693
Abstract: A dual flush flapper valve apparatus for converting a standard toilet to a dual flush system includes a valve body having a lower rim and an upper rim. The lower rim is configured to selectively engage a tank valve of a toilet. A valve top is coupled to the valve body and is selectively engageable with the upper rim to seal and alternatively unseal a top aperture. A first chain and a second chain are configured to attach to a trip lever of the toilet to move the valve top between a closed position. The first chain and the second chain are arranged such that a partial depression of a handle of the toilet lifts the trip lever to move the valve top to the open position and a full depression of the handle lifts the trip lever further to move the valve body to the lifted position.

  • Patent number: 8319613
Abstract: A smart cap for a medical container for the containment of solid medications having unique indicia. The cap is provided with an optical scanner configured with at least one locally contained or external data base having general medication identification data and optionally patient-specific information to scan and identify the medication (and optionally the dosage, specific formulations, manufacturing source, etc.) and to record and correlate information regarding patient medication usage (scanning of a medication is generally considered indicative of actual patient taking of the medication). The cap further comprises communication elements configured to transmit/receive “usage” through scanning of a unit dosage of the medication, to an external data base such as the patient's cell phone and or computer (such as with blue tooth or RF communication) or via a telephone call or internet transmission to a data base of a pharmacy or physician or other health care provider.

  • Patent number: 6912376
Abstract: A multiple band transceiver (10) uses a fixed frequency oscillator (34) to generate a reference signal in both receive, mode and transmit mode for each frequency band. A dual-band variable oscillator (26) is used to tune signals in receive and transmit mode. The use of the fixed frequency oscillator in both modes and in each band reduces the number of oscillating components, simplifying the circuit and reducing power requirements.

  • Patent number: 5818389
Abstract: A communication interference detection method determines the direction toward a source of interference by combining interference signals from a sweeping directional antenna with communication signals from an omni antenna while measuring and recording power, frequency spectra, and interference-to-signal ratio over a wide range of conditions using a spectrum analyzer and power meter and communication receivers. The method can be used in the field to locate interfering sources which might interference with the reception of communication signals such as Global Position System (GPS) communication signals.
