  • Patent number: 5451745
Abstract: A toy oven has a heating compartment accessible through an aperture in a front wall of a housing of the oven. A door is provided which is manually movable to close off the aperture. IN one embodiment, the door is slidably mounted and in another embodiment it is pivotally mounted. A mechanical interlock engages the door to prevent it from opening if the electrical power switch is on. Another mechanical interlock prevents the door from opening when the heating compartment is at a high temperature. The oven is thus safe to use by children in normal play. A fan may be provided to cool the heating compartment when the power switch is turned off and is thereafter automatically turned off after a predetermined time or when the temperature in the heating compartment falls to a safe level. A timer may also be provided to automatically switch power off after a predetermined time of inactivity.

  • Patent number: 5147237
Abstract: A toy audio generating device is disclosed for use as an accessory to another toy, for example as a backpack for a toy action figure. The toy audio device includes a receptacle defining an enclosure containing a speaker and plural batteries laid out side-by-side adjacent the end of the speaker opposite the sound projecting portion of the speaker. A printed circuit board containing circuitry for generating audio signals is located in a space alongside the speaker under a side wall of the enclosure. A switch for activating sound generation is mounted to that side wall and directly contacts the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5073140
Abstract: Toy action figures and detachable accessories therefor incorporating audio generating apparatus are disclosed. The audio generating apparatus is entirely contained within the accessory and generates both speed and sound effects. The detachable accessories have a configuration and visual appearance coordinated with the configuration and visual appearance of the toy action figure. For example, the accessory may be a backpack configured and having a visual appearance to coordinate with a soldier, spaceman or policeman action figure. The audio generating apparatus includes separate controls for causing the audio generating apparatus to independently generate speech and sound effects. The accessories in configuration, appearance and sound content are made to be attachable and applicable to different types of action figures.

  • Patent number: 4593618
Abstract: A toy vehicle having a body housing and undercarriage secured thereto. The undercarriage supports rotatable front and rear wheels. A roll support member is pivotably coupled to the undercarriage and is latchable thereto. An applicator roll which is adapted to carry messages, symbols or the like is rotatably supported by the roll support member. The applicator roll is displaceable between operative and inoperative positions by a cam which is turned by a key.

  • Patent number: 4498164
Abstract: A children's record player which can be in the shape of a toy vehicle designed to be placed on top of a gramophone record and drive around and over that record. The record player has a base with a central downward pin engaging the center of the record and a pair of wheels, one of which is driven to cause the device to sweep around the record. A playing arm is provided having at its trailing outer end a pick-up engaging the sound groove in the record. The whole thing is mounted on a base and the pick-up extends through an opening in the base when in a playing position but is raised forwardly so as to be totally within the base and so protected from damage when the record player is controlled by a pivoted lever whose pivoting in turn automatically lifts the pick-up wholly within the base during non-operation.
