The apparatus may be installed as a retrofit into the firearm body without any need to alter it. Moreover, the light source and the electronics powering are will be shielded from environmental hazardous associated with the operation of a firearm thus prolonging the life of the apparatus while ensuring it remains functional whenever needed.
