An exciting moment notification method includes first defining in a table in memory of a computer, an exciting moment occurring during a live event, such as a card game, awards program or a sporting event, and then annotating a multiplicity of images of different instances of the live event with the exciting moment. The method further includes video streaming a live instance of the live event over a computer communications network and matching a frame of the video streamed live instance in the memory of the computer to an annotated one of the multiplicity of images. Finally, the method includes transmitting a message to at least one subscriber of the instance of the live event indicating an occurrence of the exciting moment.

A method for crowd-sourced event management includes receiving from a purchaser from over a computer communications network, a selection to purchase an admissions ticket to an event scheduled for performance on a particular date at a particular venue and assigning a seat within the venue to the purchaser. A specification also is received from over the computer communications network, by the purchaser, of a specific action to be performed during the performance. Later, it is determined whether or not to perform the specific action during the performance and in the event that the specific action is determined to be performed during the performance, a message is displayed at the venue indicating the determination along with a portion of the venue including the assigned seat.

A remote control file identifying the events and conditions under which the events should be reported is periodically retrieved at a client computer. When an event occurs within a client computer, the remote control file is searched for data indicating that the event should be recorded. If data is located within the remote control file indicating that the event should be reported, data describing the event is collected. The collected data then may be subsequently reported. The remote control file may also include data identifying the type of data to be collected and a date and time after which data for a particular event should not be collected or reported.
