Abstract: This invention relates to a surgical scalpel handle with illuminator allowing the surgeon to use the illumination to light the surgical field while holding the scalpel handle. A surgical scalpel handle with an illuminator comprises a scalpel handle that contains, a structural strut, that serves to attach light emitting diode (LED) cartridge with strut terminating into a bayonet fitting attachment for the blade element; and a light emitting diode (LED) cartridge with a series of light emitting diodes embedded in the cartridge. The a LED cartridge is attached to the scalpel handle by sliding the bayonet fitting of the strut through the central axis of the light emitting diode cartridge and then by screwing LED cartridge onto the strut in order to attach to scalpel handle and expose at least a part of the cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20150073813
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for determining, defining and quantifiably measuring the influence of a physician on patient consumerism, and converting each unit of physician influence into a measurable dollar amount per unit sales and consequently optimizing profitability on non-prescription non-medically necessary products and services. This is novel system and method, as well in the literature as in the patent database. The invention answers the question: “If a physician puts “x” amount of effort to sell products to their patients, then physician will increase per unit sales price by “y” amount and consequently optimize profitability. The system and method contained herein includes a database that utilizes a server and a mobile application to input real time market metrics to dynamically measure physician influence on their patients in terms of their patients' consumerism and purchasing behavior.

  • Publication number: 20090119131
Abstract: A personal health record is maintained by receiving a document having information thereon corresponding to the purchase of healthcare. The document is transmitted to a server by generating an identification code associated with a personal health record stored at the server and affixing it to the transmitted document. The transmitted document is stored as part of the personal health record. Relevant data is extracted from the document and used to populate the personal health record for updating.
