  • Publication number: 20230363416
Abstract: A method for manufacturing extruded animal food having safe levels of cannabinoids. This includes providing a food substrate having a cannabinoid content of a combined cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) concentration of less than 5 mg/kg of the food substrate, extruding the substrate at a maximum temperature of no more than 145° C. and a pressure of no more than 50 kg/cm2, and cooling the extruded substrate to ambient temperature, wherein the extruded substrate is animal food having a moisture content of less than 35%, a bulk density of between 150-600 g/l, and at least 5% of the total Cannabinoid content is the cannabidiolic acid (CBDA).

  • Patent number: 11547692
Abstract: A nutritionally complete animal food including, vitamins, and minerals to sustain the animal's health and wellness. The one or more ingredients containing cannabinoids added to the nutritionally complete animal food at the time of manufacturing. These cannabinoids are selected from the group consisting of Cannabichromenic acid (CBCA), Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), Cannabidivarinic acid (CBDVA), Cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), Cannabinolic acid (CBNA), ?9-Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCVA) and combinations thereof. The concentrations of each of the cannabinoids are each less than 100 parts per million (ppm) in the at least one ingredient. In an alternate embodiment, the one or more ingredients have cannabinoids include in an aggregate concentration of less than 100 parts per million (ppm).

  • Publication number: 20220079188
Abstract: A method for using an animal feed ration to safely stimulate the endocannabinoid system of an animal includes determining a daily metabolizable energy requirement (DMER) for a class of animals, such as a canine. Further, the method includes providing an animal feed ration meeting the daily metabolizable energy requirement (DMER) to at least one animal in said class of animals based on the body weight (BW) the said animals measurable in kilograms (kg). The method further includes feeding, or delivering, on a daily basis, the ration of food substrate to the mammalian subject in an amount of 2000 to 15000 kcal/kg of the animal subject BW, and the daily metabolizable energy requirement (DMER) is determined by the formula: DMER=RERMUL*? (kgBW)??; where the maximum amount of daily cannabinoid intake provided is determined by the formula: Maximum ? ? daily ? ? cannabinoid ? ? intake ? ? ( MDCI ) = D ? M ? E ? R R ? M ? E × PCI × CC .

  • Patent number: 10849852
Abstract: A pet food product includes a food substrate manufactured by extrusion, baking or other process involving heat. The pet food product includes less than 10% of hemp oil by weight, and preferably less than 5% by weight. The hemp oil has cannabinoids, including acidiccannabinoids. The acidic cannabinoids have a concentration of less than 100 parts per million, and preferably between 10-40 parts per million in the hemp oil. The acidic cannabinoids include cannabidiolic acid (CBD-A) and cannabidiol (CBD) in a ratio of at least 1:1, and preferably 3:1, or greater. An antioxidant is added to the hemp oil to inhibit oxidation of the acidiccannabinoids including the (CBD-A). The pet food product includes a second oil blended with the hemp oil. The antioxidant and the second oil cooperate to inhibit oxidation of the acidic cannabinoids.
